Took car in for repair and it's fudged!
So about a month ago I took my car into the dealership for an oil change. The right side rocker panel was damaged. I don't know how. The dealership offered to pay for the repair. Then the auto body shop I took it to screwed up the repair. There was a large gap, clear coat paint runs, a spot where the paint was scraped off. The body shop said they'd fix it. I get it back today. The gap is still there. It seems like all they did was put some sort of glue in the gap. The glue got all over the panel. It's hard as a rock. The rocker also doesn't seem to be clamped in correctly. What do you guys make of this? Why isn't it attaching to the body flush? Did they likely break something? What would you ask for/demand in my shoes? I've never been so pissed off in my entire life.

Sounds like the dealer who did the damage lifted the car by the rockers instead of the proper jack points with pads.
Then, to make it worse, that repair is horrendous and not acceptable. It looks like they tried to make the gap disappear by adding clear silicone??? I've never taken the rockers off a 6th gen but it looks like the rockers were warped/not repaired correctly or, if they were replaced, cheap knock-offs were used. Unacceptable and I hope you get this sorted out soon

Wow, terrible- complain to the dealer for proper repair since it is their fault- elevate to the general manager. This is why I try and do all of my own car work.

He took it to his own body shop not the dealers so he's gonna be in for a fight now. If the dealer paid for the repair and the body shop he chose screwed it up, the dealer isn't gonna care. Now if the dealer told him to take it to so and so that's a different story but that doesn't sound like that's what happened.
You're going to need to keep after the body shop to fix it and fix it right.

Pretty plain.
The dealer who changed the oil messed up. Should have let him fix it to pass -YOUR- inspection. |

Not even sure what I'm looking at. Looks weird. A glob of goop in that gap? Maybe some filler got in there and they just left it? I wouldn't accept that until they get it perfect.

Can you take another pic from farther away?
It seems your problem now is the shop that did that "work".
