Changing Diff fluid change

I know I want to do Amsoil Severe Gear. Just have 27k miles... fun miles... and I am not too sure if it has ever been done. I want to do it for peace of mind and I am running more HP than stock. I know how to do it and have access to a lift to do it on so that makes this about a billion times better haha.

My car does not have its manual and I can't find a solid answer to any of these questions.

75w90, correct?

Do I still need to put the additive in if I run Severe Gear?

Amount? 2.1 quarts?

Hey there, I am in the process of doing mine too. I purchased amsoil as well. I can't answer most of your questions except I know amsoil's website is correct. The oz you need and I know when I purchased, it said I still needed the additive. Although, I'm not sure exactly what would be different about the ZL1

Do you have the part number for the additive handy? I would love to get this done this afternoon.

Yes, I talked to my Amsoil supplier and that's the one he said to use.

Very interesting. I am just curious why they don't push that on their website. I didn't really go searching for it, but it wasn't in the "recommended" part for when I went to purchase the oil.

You can get the owners manual through my Chevy app. It's free and all you have to do is add some info about your car such as the vin#.

2.1qts and stick with the delco fluid which is 75w90LS (LS additives already included).

Make sure to get some sort of syringe to add the fluid. Makes the job easier and prevents any mess.

Some will say you need to go do a bunch of figure 8s after.... That's ok, but all you really need to do is go take it for a nice cruise. The fluid will distribute just fine.

I changed mine a month ago, and everything has been perfect since.

You don't need to to do figure 8's that's for a TSB issue clunking when turning.

I am an Amsoil dealer. I just checked with HQ about your question. Your weight is correct. Amsoil severe gear is great with all 5th gen Camaros EXCEPT the ZL1. It is a different story. It does contain the additive for LSD, but they recommend using GM recommended for the LSA. As far as amount, undo both lower and upper plugs. Drain, install lower plug and fill till oil comes out upper plug. 1 bottle may be enough, it is on my 2010 V6. I have used this for 3 seasons of track days and all is well.
