Sriracha's FIRST WASH!

Yesterday while at target, I bought some microfiber towels, a chenille microfiber wash sponge, a large drying microfiber towel, and some Meguiar's Gold Class shampoo. I read some detailing techniques and watched some videos, and though I didn't have a grit guard I proceeded. Now let's skip to the wash. I probably had terrible technique and screwed up in more ways than one, but at least my car is clean! I didn't know how to get off some of the bug splatters in the front without "scrubbing"... So I'm sure I did something wrong there. But I tried not to rub too hard, and I did squeeze some soapy water and then rinse it off the car before I lathered the soap with the chenille sponge. We also have hard water so drying it was very difficult. Once again I'm sure I did something wrong there. But here are the results! (Was sort of overcast. Sorry. And these were before I cleaned the wheel wells.)

Lookin' good! Is that a gravel road I see in the background? If so, better get some splash/rock guards right away - 1st mod. It will tear up your paint.

Bug goo can usually be removed with a wet dryer sheet (used works).
Turtle wax makes a bug and tar remover, good for stubborn bugs and tree sap.

that's typically what I use, the bug and tar remover. spray it, let is sit 5 minutes, then wash.

Yes, unfortunately it is! But we only live like literally 30 feet down it before our driveway. So it's not that bad!

I'd still get some guards if I were you. Small rocks can get wedged in your tire treads and then flung out as you gain speed.
