Anyone been pulled over for too dark of tint?

I did a search and couldn't find a post that talked about getting pulled over for to much window tint. I live in Ohio and I've been pulled over 5 times in 3 years for no front plate, got so bad I put the front plate on. Ohio tint law is either 40% or 50% but I want to get a minimum of 30% but don't want to deal with getting pulled over like I did about the front plate.

What state do you guys live in and have you been pulled over and/or ticketed for tint to dark?

I live up near Toledo. I've been pulled over by the State Highway Patrol once, the rest were local police. Lake Township, twice by the Sheriff's Dept, and once by Oregon city.

None of them wrote me tickets but they all told me I only get one warning. In Ohio a ticket for no front plate is $140!!! It sucks but I have to put my front plate on, I hate it but I haven't been pulled over since.

Always safer to go with a legal tint... check some of the tint threads.

Personally, I want no stupid reason for them to pull me over. They will have to get me for a real infraction.

Here in DE they made it clear cut....NO aftermarket tint on the front windows driver/passenger without a waiver....
They also made part of the DMV record. There is an indicator of Yes or No for the presence of the waiver when "we" run the plate. I don't normally make it a priority violation to pull over for....but if it presents itself I will..... I will also allow them to either remove it or get a waiver then take it to court and I will help them out with the ticket if they want take advantage of it...

We don't have a front plate requirement....thank God...

Damn, didn't realize Delaware was such sticklers, especially since living here is bad enough I had tint on one of my cars and failed inspection so I pulled to the side and took it off and went back through to pass. Then I had to clean it off once I got home. The place I got it tinted said they would re-do it for cheaper if I had to take it off, but I never went back. Never got pulled over for it though.

Actually, my niece just got cited for it, so I doubt I'll be looking to put some on myself now.

I got pulled over (by state police) and received a ticket for $125. I've had the tint on for about a year and 4 months now.

10% here in Florida, had the tint on since december. I think cops round here have better reasons to stop people here

Most of cops I know in FL won't touch you until 3-5%.....

I suppose it has something to do with it being so hot here and respecting that it is ridiculous in summer heat... or that everyone has 10-20% lol...

Im running Limo tint on back window, and 35% everywhere else. This mustang driver i know has Limo tint like 50 - 60% all around even on front window, looks nice, not sure if he has been pulled over here in texas.

My daughter was ticketed 3 times in her Mercedes. I want to tint the Camaro badly but know better. But I'm waiting for the ticket before I blow holes in the bumper for a front plate. Just hope I haven't had 2 double IPA's when it comes!
