Tires - What's Everyone Running on 20's
Ok, getting ready to pull the trigger on some MRR M017 wheels and was planning to run the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s but they are back ordered and even Firestone would not commit to when the production run will start up again. So looking at other options for reasonable priced tires to fit the 20x10/20x11 setup. Planning 275/40R20 Front and 305/35R20 rear. Tire Rack is recommending the new Continental ExtremeContact Sport but its new and not seeing a lot of info in the current reviews for a heavy car like the Camaro. What other options has everyone tried in 20" wheel sizes for HPDE?

Well I ended up getting a set of OEM 2017 1LE wheels with factory Goodyear Supercar 3s. I'll give them a try and then see if a change is necessary. I'm still watching for the Firestone's to become available though.

Bought my car used. It came with Delinte Desert Storm; stock sizes. So far I have gotten 27K miles out of them. When shopping for future replacement, I was surprised to see that they are listed as SUV tires! LOL! Great traction on dry/wet roads. I will probably stay with these "wrong tires".

275 Conti Extreme Contact DW for the daily on 20's. Epic rain tires. Super comfortable, but a good amount of grip. Race tires are 18's, 275 Toyo RR.

BFG A/S on stock rims for fall/winter/spring...BFG Super Sport UHP on ZL1 reps for summer...both have good rain handling, decent to better dry and the UHP's so far have let me get a decent '60 at the 1/4....
most important to me? If a tire gets a nail/damage enough to be replaced I don't get major wallet hurt.... now if I was driven a Z(28-L1) and I had discretionary cash flow then what the heck, go for the stickiest tire you can and who cares about mileage or cost.... it's all about intent and perspective....good luck!

Bfg rivals on 18s or RE 71s on 19s in a 305/30. Since you are in autocross/ road course section those are the top dogs

Yeah I am sticking with 20s for now. I know a lot of people are on 18s and 19s and there is a lot more selection there but I'm running a single set of wheels so 20s it is.

Re71s come in 285/30 or 35 and 295/30. Mpss are good for auto X, but get hot in road course after some laps. 285/35, 295/30 and 35, but aren't on the cheap side. The Goodyears from zl1s work to

After much pondering, research, and great support from "the usual' guys in this group'
After scoring a deal on some Zl1 rims for dedicated autox use - i got some Re71r 295 x 4. Gained 50mm up front. Only had one event so far in the heat - haven't found the limits of the tire yet -how exciting. I dont want to mess with boards in the trailer, or granny driving out of the driveway, or lowering the car(bad for my drag racing)-so 20s are fine for my skill set.
