Catch can brand
Does the brand of catch can matter? or do they all work the same?

Yes, the brand matter a lot. There are a lot of catch cans out there that are just empty can with fittings attached. They will collect some gunk but the vast majority flows right thru. You want a can that actually had some R&D work done on it and has filtration and baffling inside. Typically I would make it easy and recommend the Apex can but they are not available right now.

Apex in mine, but I'm sure Elite is good as well. Definitely don't buy some bargain brand though because as stated above, the are NOT all the same.

I run the apex one cause of the size of the filtration, and the size of the drainage area where the oil is caught. Elite now has a version 2 can thats the same size.
No matter which you choose, id recommend that you get a can with a removeable storage drainage area. In the winter, all the combustables and byproduction caught in the can tend to gunk up. Almost like a sludge due to colder temps. Its alot easier to remove the cup and fully clean that area than hoping it all drains through a small opening.

I have an Elite Catch can and that is a huge lifesaver when it comes to removing the gunk from the car. If I were you I would invest the $$ and get one as soon as possible.
