What do I do with my stock mufflers and tips?

I did the MRT v2.0 replacement, but now I have 2 suitcase-size mufflers sitting in my garage. They have about 8200 miles on them.

Other than storing dead hooker body parts in them, what do I do? Sell them to a junk yard? Boat anchors?

I cut off the tips to use as pencil holders and for sentimental value. The mufflers went into recycling.

BINGO

The mufflers are useless to anyone except scrape metal. You will never put them back on, and nobody really wants them. SCRAP EM. I did after storing them for a year.

Pencil holder is a great idea. The idea came after I already threw mine out, but Gretchin was nice enough to make one for me and send it to me.

The pencil holder is a great idea. I'm having mine changed out tomorrow to a Dynomax Utra-Flo axle back and was wondering what to do with the stock mufflers.

I doubt the Chevy dealer that is doing the install will cut the tips off so I'll probably just tell them to scrap the old mufflers.

I held onto mine for about a year. Got sick of tripping over them in the garage so i dropped them off at a scrap yard. Darn things were heavy!!!

I always hang onto the stock mufflers. Then when I trade in the car I take off the aftermarket exhaust, put it back to stock and sell the aftermarket mufflers for my next ride. Same thing with cai.

Yep, Mine weighed 25.5 lbs each. I replaced them with the MRT 2.0 which weighed 9.5 lbs. each. For a savings of 16 lbs. per side or 32 lbs off the back end.

This works great if you are planning to trade your ride in. I am planning to keep mine for many years to come. 5 years and still going strong.
