You said you don't want a track car so why is 1LE/ZL1 options? They were based around track performance? 1LE mainly suspension upgrades and trans/final drive ratio different, ZL1 not solely based around track, but magnetic ride isn't exactly a necessity of daily driving. You don't want a track car my advice get an SS and take the money you didn't spend on it and make it the way you feel fit with aftermarket that meets your demands instead of paying for something you don't feel necessary.

If you must buy an expensive car, get an SS and save the rest of your money. $20k invested can be a nice head-start on retirement.

I think you should go for it (ZL1). a lot of people can get nice stuff when they get older, not many when they are young. In the end life is all about memories. |

ZL1 or Z28 are both too much car for a 20 year old. Buy a SS first.

I would just get a ss with all the options and mod to your liking.........As private employers can often be unreliable for longevity of positions........As in construction etc its feast or famine.......And hopefully you have some security, but at your age I was serving my country and jobs after that were not allways the best with private employers.

I go along with "All Star", go for the SS and put the money in savings that would have went toward the ZL1. Being 21 and making good money the insurance is still gonna kill you.

I won't make that as a naval officer responsible for millions of dollars in equipment and potentially responsible for dozens of professional naval personnel.

If you got to get a good car, get a used SS. Don't buy a new one cause they depreciate as soon as you drive off the lot. I'm 20 and I bought a salvage SS and fixed it all up and got it cheap. i would never blow all my money on a car, no matter how much I make. I would save the extra money to put towards a house

I wouldn't get a new Z28 unless you fully understand the baggage that will come along with all those fancy parts... It's not meant to be a daily driver, nor is it meant to drag race. It's a purpose built variant and unless you have 0 interest in comfort, listening to the radio (or your passengers), taking road trips, not paying for tires/brakes all the time, I really, really suggest you get another Camaro model.

That depends entirely on your other financial data. Bills, debt, living arrangements, etc. etc. etc. I'm pulling in ~4588 every two weeks, but I live in Chicago, so stuff usually costs more. So my actual take home, after health ins, taxes, 401k, transit pass, car note/insurance, apartment, cell, internet, tv, etc. etc. etc. is much lower.

If you're planning on modding the car to perform at a track or such, get a quality used SS. Even cheaper and you'll have a nice base to build your idea of a track car. |

I was sorta in your shoes but it was LT vs SS. I went with the SS because I found a used one with 500 miles on it. I would try to find a used ZL1 with low mileage. Save a ton of money.
