The camaro has been in the limelight ever since even before its debut at the dealers, then when the buzz settled down a bit came the ZL1, now it's the corvettes turn and rightfully so as it is a great looking machine.
Oh and it seems to me anyhow that some of the design line of the new vette came from the camaro. This sort of competition can only be good for the entire brand. |

Two great cars
Two very different markets Each should be loved for each respective owner. Afterwards, owners should feel no remorse. There will ALWAYS be a shinier toy down the block. Automakers strive to do exactly that, or else they wouldn't survive in this business...

I have owned two other "sport" cars. An 04 GTO that I built to be a 450 RWHP boulevard bruiser and an 01 Z51 Vette Coupe. I sold the GTO to get my wife a decent car and bought the Vette after we realized I didn't have to sell the GTO to get her car. The Vette was everything I thought it would be. Fast, Fun to drive, and turned heads even being a few years older. About a month after I bought the Vette, we learned that my wife was pregnant with our first. I figured I would keep the car and have it as my get away from time to time. In reality though, I drove it twice in the three months after my son was born. The Vette didn't really have a place so I sold it and started looking at G8s and Camaros. I drove my 12' off the lot and haven't regretted it since. We can all go cruising around and when I want hit the track or the back roads I can. The Camaro fits my lifestyle to a "T".
So long story short, No I don't feel left out with the revealing of the C7.

you're comparing apples and oranges here. Two very different cars. each one shines in their spot light. Corvettes have always been the big chevy sport's car though

I think it reflect on the reason you bought the camaro. If it is because you like it, you really don't care because you have what you want. When life finally allowed me to get another car I went to car shows, sat in a lot of cars (CTS-V, Porsche, Mustang, Audi,Corvette, Mercedes etc.) and picked what I wanted for me, not for others. If I strictly went status symbol the car chosen was not comfortable enough to be my daily driver. My wife also commented how my face lit up differently when I sat in the camaro.

When you look at the difference btween the 4th and 5th gen Camaro, it was a big change in style. Not so much with the C7 Corvette. With that said. a Corvette will always be a Corvette . It will ALWAYS turn my head and start dreaming of owning one. Right now my permagrin still hasn't left, so life is good.

Not totally true got my 2012 for 43k out the door. which is in the same price range as a loaded SS And after having both the 2010 Camaro and the Corvette they are totally different driving experiences. Each has its good and bad. Remember Camaro is a Muscle car a Corvette is a sports car these are different animals. Having a choice I would and did choose the Corvette. If you have not Driven one you should...... |

If I was wanting a new Corvette the C7 would be making me more serious about a new C6.
