Real knock?

Car has full headers and exhaust, msd manifold,cai and ported tb.
getting inconsistent knock retard at wot at anything over 19-20*,
iv'e heard that california 91 octane is pretty crappy so what should it be max at
wot?

Why the NA dudes don't go flex fuel and just not race on 91 here in California is beyond me.

If distance to an e85 station is the issue then I understand.

I wish I could run e85. Cali gas is horribad and with boost that can spell complete disaster

going through same thing as you, i have KR at around 3-4k then up at 6300-6400k. Sooon going to tune the e85 side of it and see if it drops or goes away then i will know if its fake or not. Im thinking its fake so far but ya never now. Mods are same as you btw

It is not a contest to run with the highest timing possible, most likely you have gone over the bell curve, take out some timing and make the engine happy on your fuel.

Have you adjusted the knock sensor sensitivity in the engine yet? These engines like to pull timing bone stock even on 93.

Somebody here once said the knock sensors will pull timing at the 1st sign of a mouse farting on these cars.
