2016 SS 6MT

Can a 2016 CAMARO SS 6MT be push started? You know, by rolling it and popping the clutch, in the case of a dead battery. Years ago I went back and forth to work that way for a week until I got paid and could buy a battery, LOL. I parked on hills.

Ha! You plan on buying a new 16 SS and in 4 or 5 years not having $75 to go down to the local walmart and buy a new battery?

Actually I used to do the same thing with an old 67 bug I had in college, it was light enough that I didn't even have to park pointing downhill. I could push it out of a head-in parking place and get it going fast enough to start on a level parking lot. Won't be able to do that with an SS.

The 14's could ....as long as you have a key and put it in the "on" mode.

Though...if the battery dies...will the electronic parking brake be able to disengage in order to roll it?

7000ft, your showing your age here, I also had a 67 bug with 6 volt battery that my dad and I pushed just about every morning in the winter to go to school. It was a bitch. I'm showing my age now also.

So how would the vehicle be towed? there's gotta be a manual override of some sort.

A winch and blatant disregard for the care of your vehicle.

Didn't think about that, no ignition key, just a push button that does nothing when pushed with a dead battery. Between that and the elec parking brake set I guess you would be hosed

All it says in the manual under towing, jump starting, and the electronic parking brake is this to our topic is this:

"...The vehicle was neither designed nor intended to be towed with any of its wheels on the ground... Have the vehicle towed on a flatbed car carrier. A wheel lift tow truck could damage the vehicle. Consult your dealer or a professional towing service if the disabled vehicle must be towed."

Anyone want to run down their battery and find out what happens?
