Be careful, if you consume zero carbs your body produces increased ketones (which has it's benefits). Too many ketones in your bloodstream can cause ketoacidosis which is life threatening.

I know this only because I tried going carnivore and learned the hard way. Headaches, dizziness, heart-palpitations, etc.

I'm 6'4 220lbs average build, wide shoulders, the seats fit me perfectly except my shoulders push forward a little but it's not uncomfortable.

Compared to the seats in my Z06, I was just too big.

I'm 4'5", 295 lbs. Having your feet dangle while sitting on the toilet sucks, but my feet can still reach the pedals in the Z with the seat pushed forward. The Recaro's seem to fit my average build just fine...

I just watched the videos in your signature.

Your Gen5 ZL1 stock is faster than most Gen6 ZL1s !

Nice job!

PS - RE: that feet dangle, ever try a squatty potty? No joke -- my wife and I use them, it's legit.

Hi, not a "guy" here, but I was overweight when I bought my 17 ZL-1. My doctor found an insulin resistance problem and prescribed the appropriate meds for me a few months ago. I immediately lost 30 pounds, and slowly am losing a few more. My bottom was quite a tight squeeze into the Recaros, and I hadn't noticed until this thread that I fit a LOT better now.

I work on a military base, so I always get to work early just in case, so I have a few minutes to nap and reflect. I have a much more comfortable time lately now that I'm not as "wide" as I used to be!

No, I'm not going to say how much I weighed!

Tara

not exactly accurate..

the presence of ketones can have many causes... starvation, low carb diet, or uncontrolled diabetes being a few of them.

Diabetic ketoacidosis is a completely separate disease pathology and the pathophysiology is beyond this conversation.

A high protein diet with little carbs is more of an Atkins diet. In atkins, while there is an initial weight loss as the body realizes it is not getting carbs, it switches over to protein metabolism for energy, However, with increased proteins, the body can then undergo gluconeogeneiss (sugar creation) using amino acids as building blocks. This is why folks on Atkins lose weight and plateau. The body creates sugar from the proteins and starts to store it again.

This doesn't happen in keto because of the high fat percentage and mod/low protein ratio. The body can not create sugar from fat the way it can from proteins.

I'll add it's very difficult for some to actually get into ketosis and stay there. The issue with Atkins is, yes, it's okay to eat fat as long as you're in ketosis and burning it off. Problem is most go through the motions and don't realize they are not actually in ketosis and then not burning that extra fat. When you're producing ketones you will feel better than ever and it's addictive like a drug which helps make the diet more bearable.

Also, don't confuse exercise and diet. Two completely different things and ways to get there. If you go ultra low carb / low calorie, high protein diet you're going to need to skip the exercise.

I was just kidding. Though I'm short n heavy 5'9" 260, I'm not that short n heavy. lol.

I'm fortunate to have great tracks and great weather conditions when the fall gets here. My real racing season starts when it starts getting cold.
