So. Cal tire Replacement Options?

Running the ZL1 staggered setup (285/30/20 F 305/30/20 R) on my 2SS vert, looking for something quiet, comfortable, yet still sticky enough for "spirited" back roads driving. Its my DD, but only have 20k miles in almost 3 yrs.

I've priced out Michelin 4S @ Costco ($1608), and Discount w/ certs($1808, but I'm sure they'd match), and ExtremeContacts $1705 w/ certs.

Nitto 555 GT2's are $1362 w/ certs, only $1217 w/o certs.

So the question is, which are best for my use? I'm willing to compromise a bit on performance for longevity and comfort, but dont' want to overpay for the Michelin's if they will last about the same as the Nittos. . . Also, Costco rotates their tire discounts, and its currently for Bridgestones, which are more than the Michies.

Opinions/advice/other vendors to consider? I'm in San Diego.

i have michelin ps4s on my ss and love them hit up wes at elite finish in sd he sells only michelin tires and got me a killer deal!

Thanks, smaller guys usually can't compete with the volume of Costco or Discount, if he's an authorized dealer its worth a call I guess. . .

he got me better pricing than tirerack, costco and sams club but it was a few years ago but give him a try!

The Contis and Nittos are not worth the savings vs. PS4S. PS4S is the only street tire worth getting IMO. The dry grip is that much better, if you spend significant time in twisty roads and canyons and may need a tire that can handle rain duty for track days.

Firehawk Indy 500s are pretty damn good and are probably the cheapest of all. I got them on Tirerack for my last Mustang GT. Great tire.

Thanks, I really haven't done a lot of "spirited" driving in a while, though I have fun when I get a chance. My '16 only has 20k miles, so I'm not chewing up a bunch of miles, but seems like the PS4S is the favorite. . . Will also check out the Firehawks, not carried by Costco tho'.
