Performance Shift Activiated when Braking

When I am driving in sport mode and I brake hard the transmission activates something called Performance Shift (can be seen in the drivers display) the motor revs and it feels like the transmission is not really in the correct gear. I have the 2SS A10. My last vehicle was a 2018 2SS with the A8 and I do not recall having this happen in the over 80,000 miles that I drove it prior to trade in. Is this normal or is there something off?
Thank You

Yes, totally normal. It can also activate under hard cornering and of course hard acceleration. I wonder if it has a certain g meter level that sets it off.

Thats normal in my ZLE. Sport Mode allows the car to go to performance shifts when its driven hard.

It is normal and an awesome feature (and if you ask me, a redeeming quality of the automatic). This mode can be activated manually by tapping the accelerator to the floor for a moment, but it also has other triggers, as mentioned above.

The engine revs up because the trans downshifts to the optimal gear for maximum torque in performance driving scenarios.

If you don't like it, you can always use tour mode, perhaps with individual settings (suspension, engine sound, steering) locked to sport or whichever mode you want them in.

The 10 speed does seem to go into performance mode with less aggressive driving, as compared to the 8 speed. It’s an awesome feature.
