He also took it upon himself to put the torque converter TSB on the list, but the techs did not see any issues with the TC and he did not want to press the issue since the car only had 1,400 miles on it. He said that if he were to press the issue with such low mileage on the car that GM would flag me as "one of those guys that reads the forums and wants to get TSB's done" and they would start rejecting most/all of my requests. :O

He said that if I do indeed feel the TC issues later on the down the road that he could get me a new TC then.

How is the trans doing now? I assume you bought the car some time ago, given yours is a 2016 and it only had 1400 miles on her.

This is surprising, given the nature of the shudder TSB. You are being fully responsible and exercising forward care by trying to prevent a known mechanical issue (erosion of friction material) down the line, so it's definitely not a case of frivolous TSB application when no error condition exists. Sounds like GM treats you as if they did you a favor by selling you a car...

But this is the way those companies treating you. As Tex said if they start changing the trannie, everybody is coming and wants it. They prefer to pay / change the whole if it’s really necessary instead of giving you what you want. On the long run it is cheaper for them. After a while thousands of cars are out of warranty and not everybody get this shudder or is willing to sue them. First is denial than arguing and in the end pay or change. This is the game.

I was supposed to pick up an 18 leftover with A8, this morning. I told the guy I’m sick have to delay. I just found out about this a few days ago. I’m scared now. I can’t get a feel for the percentage of people that have had issues. Some say everyone will eventually. If people have had fixed the fix isn’t always working. Is A8 an issue in 10%,40%?? Any ideas? Am I stupid to pass on A8 ? Thanks

Run far,run fast. All the threads on this forum were the deciding factor in NOT PURCHASING an A8 back on 1/2. I am grateful for having found them. Hopefully you have read all of them on this forum. I didn't want the thought of "when will the shudder start" in the back of my mind every time I push the start button.
And to add to the % who have the issue, how many folks across many other GM vehicles that have the A8s who aren't members of forums who we aren't aware of.

I have only had the car for a couple of weeks actually. I just took the car in last Monday and had this done. My car only had 600 miles on it when I bought it 2 weeks ago. It had been a garage baby ever since it was bought originally.

Another thing I forgot to mention was that the service rep told me that I would not notice much of a difference for about 800 miles or so since the new oil would need time to "soak in to all of the parts". Still feels like the transmission is slipping to me when I am taking off in the lower gears and when I go from forward to reverse or vis versa.

here in the EU about 50%. Don’t worry, enjoy every day without the shudder. I have now almost 12000km and no problems at all.

Mine was. 600 miles so far with no issues.

I'm curious, for the people that had the NEW flush since March, 2019, how many have had the shudder return?

I was told that I had gotten the 3rd generation tranny fluid on Saturday when I picked up my car. The service rep said that he has not had anyone come back after getting this fluid, but we'll see I guess.

I am not entirely sure that I had the shudder to begin with. My main thing was and still is the feeling that the tranny is slipping or not engaging properly in the lower gears. We'll see if the new fluid fixes that after things settle in.

I'd be curious to drive someone else's Camaro that knows that they have the shudder to see what it feels like. Perhaps I did have it and did not realize it.

Thought the issue would be prevalent with cars in high humidity areas.
Maybe not ???

Too bad you're so far away, I'd happily let you test drive my car so you see how the A8 is supposed to work. The one I have is nearly perfect (knock on wood). Yes, it's tuned and all, but never had the shudder, gears always engaged properly even before the tune, pretty much every shift is precise, and performance shift mode is breathtaking. The one single objectionable thing I can even think of is the clunky initial shift from R to D in cold weather when I shift immediately after coming to a stop in R (if I wait 4-5 seconds, it doesn't clunk).

The new Indian motorcycles have a hard shift from 1st to 2nd when it's cold - usually the first shift of the day. People were losing theirs minds over it. The easy fix was to either let it warm up, or simply start out in 2nd.
