I was able to do mine in my garage with the car up on jack stands. Yes, hard to get that top clip, very tight space up there. But with a long flat blade screw driver I did it. Took me maybe 20 minutes. And I'm 64, so no kid.

Keep at it and watch the videos of installation. I would bet if you could get the car up on a lift it would be a lot easier. And once in, I am a happy camper as I love this transmission/clutch combo.

Not sure if you already did it ..

But to unclip it I used a long screw driver .. once it was removed .. I unclipped sensor that’s in front .. remove the trans cooler liner zip tie and was able to get my hand in there .. or like others suggested find someone with small hands

Yeah, I can usually avoid it, but when it happens it just really steams me. Had it happen to me in stop-and-go traffic the other day and as soon as I got home I ordered the eliminator.

Mine still shows the skip-shift in the dash but it shifts to second gear at any rpm, works perfectly and I like that.

Yup, super long screw drivers worked for me also.
Taped the dummy plug onto the screw driver to plug it into the transmission.
A lot of cussing too..
Was lying on the garage floor for about 10-15 min before getting everything done.
Try to be creative with various tools. You’ll be just fine.

They could probably figure out how to screw you over for that as well if they really wanted to be assholes.
Tuning for any reason will void your warranty. SSE is the better option unless you plan on doing other mods.

So does the clip on the white/blue piece face up in everyone else’s car, or am I just unlucky? I can’t figure out how the heck to get to that clip because it’s on the top side of that plug.

More right pedal and this never becomes an issue.

No point reviving the old debate over the merits of the skip shift eliminator. Some us of thinks it's a godsend, others a non-issue. More annoying than an expected forced 1-4 shift is literally having the solution in hand but not being able to install it. There are several helpful videos on YouTube. Here's a link and a screenshot from one.

See, that guy’s plug has the clip facing downward, which would make things considerably simpler. That’s on an SS, though, not a Camaro. Do your Camaros have the clip facing up (like mine) or down (like this guy’s SS)?

Do you just ram the car in front of you that's causing this, or go around them in oncoming traffic?

A long screwdriver is essential. It's not easy, but its doable.

semi-related, i saw someone on instagram who installed the skip shit eliminator with ease, and he was pretty proud of how easily he installed it...

however, he installed the skip shift on the part that controls the reverse lockout solenoid in the rear, which is easey to access lol, not the skip-shift one...

Very sorry, not the first time I thought SS meant Camaro SS. Hope you get the help you need. Can't imagine things come from the factory any differently between Camaros of the same model year with regard to plug/clip configuration.
