PPF Recommendations

Dropped my car off today to get the bumper repainted. Can anyone recommend a good PPF for the front of the car?

I have Llumar on my car. I think the quality of all of the films are similar -- it's probably more important to find a good installer and then go with whatever brand they carry (whether Xpel, Suntek, Llumar, 3M, etc.

Actually, IIRC, Suntek Ultra & Llumar Platinum are the exact same product sold under different brands.

I agree here, the installer matters much more than the brand of PPF used.

Xpel Ultimate. Avoid the installers that come to you. Super convenient, but it's much harder for them to control the environment. Pick an installer that has a clean, air conditioned shop.

Be sure not to install PPF within 30 days of fresh paint. The paint needs to cure.

And don't ceramic coat the vehicle before installing PPF.

I have an appointment for my new ZL1

I am not clear ( get it) on what needs to be covered? As the saying goes it is only new once. So I want to cover all the high impact areas.

So far
Full Hood
Full front fenders
Full front bumpers
Mirrors ( backs)
Door cucps
A Pillar
Partial roof ( sun roof car )

What about the sides/rockers? and behind rear tires?

I also installed the ACS rock guards and while expensive they sure do look good!

I'd do those two areas also.
Depends on the money you want to spend but you're almost doing the whole car. If you're going to do that much might as well.
That's was my decision and don't regret it, don't have to worry about swirl marks or any minor scratches or chips.

Partial roof will look a bit strange with the cut line. The rockers need extra protection, because GM only added a tiny piece of vinyl there. The rear bumper will be scratched if anyone accidentally swipes their jeans against it. You might as well do the whole car at this point

Also agree about not all installers are good at it. I have 3M PPF and it was the installers cars that I looked at that really made my decision, they were almost flawless.

I would also do doors up until the concave section or the higher crease. My PPF covers doors up to the convex crease -- and I ended up with a rock chip millimeters above where my PPF ends.

In below example, YELLOW is where my PPF ends. I'd recommend going a bit higher to the concave area (RED) or up to the next convex crease (GREEN).
