Motor Mount Bracket Question
Has anyone used any other kind of motor mount brackets other than stock ones? The reason I ask is I have a set of G8 brackets at home that I was thinking of using but I don't know if the specs are the same. With the Gm strike going on I'm having a hard time ordering the correct ones

Well, the part numbers are totally different which isn't a good sign. GM will tend to use the same part on multiple models when possible to save design and manufacture costs, so if it has a different part number it is likely a different design. I would hate to see you get the engine nearly in but discover the engine is a few inches too far or close the the bellhousing.

Makes sense, I figured it wouldn't be that easy. From what I hear the strike is almost over so hopefully I can get the correct brackets soon

Line up the 2 mounts side by side and see if they are visually the same or obviously different.

Most likely a difference in height and how high or low the engine sits under the hood.
