Finally Mine!

Took delivery yesterday of my 2018 2SS convertible! (See signature for the particulars.). Came in last week 2 days shy of 8 weeks from ordering, but I was out of town. Oh well. Mine now!

Got a chance to drive it on some backroads today. AMAZING!

Tomorrow the wife and I are taking on a road trip to the Wine Country.

Might let her drive it. In the parking lot of the hotel.

Maybe...

One thing I don't understand---the back seat in these things. No way is this car a 5 passenger thing. They ought to make the back a luggage area.
Nice ride, btw.

Correct there is only 4 seat belts so defiantly not a 5 passenger?

NICE! Performance brakes too. I like the Kalahari with in a black vert... not as hot on your ass when the sun bakes it.

98: First time I’ve ordered a new car from the factory and had it built the way I wanted it. I pretty much went as loaded as I could as far as 2SS performance and comfort.

I bought a set of matching red rear Brembo calipers from GMPartsdirect.com while I waiting for delivery. Dealer installed them and a Dimple magnetic oil plug for free on delivery. (They already had to dealer install the front 6-pistons, OEM Ground Effects, and the Kalahari knee pads. And it turns it out one of their senior techs is a guy I’ve known on/off for 30 plus years.)

Last vehicle I bought was a new 2006 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab/long bed/4X4/tow package, etc. Has every option also. Plus I did a Magnaflow split exhaust, modded the air intake, added a matching shell and carpet kit, roof racks, step tubes, etc. It’s paid for and still runs like new, so I’m keeping if for hauling my drums, scuba gear, shooting/range gear, family to Tahoe stuff, etc.

Even the used cars I’ve bought, like my ‘98 STS, ‘96 Impala SS, 93 Corvette, etc. were always as loaded as I could find them. And then modded. All 3 of those had custom exhaust, intake mods, chips, etc. And all were black come to think of it...

Don’t know how much I’m going to add to the Camaro. Just got back from its “shakedown” cruise of about 170 miles round-trip in 100+ degree heat. (Has +/- 220 miles total on it now.). Ran/performed perfectly. Well other than it being so hot the top had to come up a few times... (See pic.)

I was thinking about an axle-back exhaust in a couple of months, but with the exhaust in Track (and everything else in Sport) I don’t think I’m in any hurry to change it. Sounded soooo good! Like an American V8 muscle car, with just a hint of Euro exotic.
