I read this as....
"Hopefully the wife will continue with the driving and he just licking the window".

Sorry.

Maybe because many of the new things lately are fugly... it looks to be follow the leader with the modern, futuristic gaping mouth grilles these days. Just like in the 1950s the trend shared by most car manufacturers was big fins and jet plane/rocket inspired designs.

Now the trend is this huge grille, blacked out bumper thing and it may be backfiring however, some cars execute it better. I happen to like the new accord and charger but cant stand the Toyotas, Lexus, or the Chevy versions.

Come on, that is a face only a mother could love.

New doesn't mean people don't like it, I liked the 6th Gen Camaro since its reveal. I think it's more accurate to say that people don't this refresh because it's ugly from every angle.

Your statement was “people don’t like new things.” I’m a person, and I like plenty of new things. That’s proof right there.
A more accurate thing to say would be some people don’t like new things.

I hope the few who like this new refresh aren’t offended by most people not liking it and expressing feelings about it. It’s not an attack on you, unless you designed it...

I owned two '06 GTO's so looks don't mean all that much to me, but the refresh is not the best effort, and I like new things, I just bought a 2018 two months ago.
So I must not be people.

Well said and the 50s are a good era to compare the present trends to imo. Seems the auto designs are departing what has been the generally accepted trend over the past decade or so. I think such wholesale transitions always seem weird as we had grown to see and accept a certain standard which most expect as a norm.

I think given that all cars started to look the same manufacturers decided to differentiate their brands better as a marketing opportunity - and rightly so.
Albeit some results only a mother could love lol

I also think the post above with the previous grill designs illustrates very well that the original gen6 wasnt really that different design language wise from any other chev cars. And id argue it is more different now vs what it used to be.

Even dodge has recoqnized their line up now looks old and new grilles are coming next year...

Bottom line: refreshes et al seem to be coming in shorter intervals now across all vehicle offerings. And they seem to go further design wise. Time to embrace change as a constant...
