Before your dealership changed countless amounts of random parts to try and fix this condition, they should had tried to duplicate this condition in a Camaro of the same trim level/year and see if that car does the same thing as yours. If all the cars they tested do the same thing then it's a normal operating characteristic of the car and then they contact GM to notify them of the misprint in the owners manual, it happens all the time.

I understand you bought the car thinking it worked a certain way and it doesn't which is frustrating and for some people is a total deal breaker, but at this point unless GM addresses your concern and releases a VCI for your radio (software update) to correct your concern, I don't think your dealer will fix this problem, it's out of their hands and into GM's hands. From passed experiences, they occasionally come good for customers depending on how easy it is to update the software, without compromising the integrity or safety of the occupants or driver of the vehicle.
