Sounds like something a competitor would spread

If you google “Kong epoxy failures” there are exactly Zero items found. Whatever the “grapevine” alleged was apparently not documented online anywhere.

Only driven my car a few times so far this spring. Still running great! Xport, stock pulley’s, and ethanol is a nice combo, especially with a KingLT1 tune.
Three of my Swedish lifting buddies came to compete with me at the Arnold fitness expo and then came to my house to get a taste of American horsepower. Took them each for a ride. They were a little scared, but absolutely loved it! They’d never experienced anything like it.

There were a few failures mentioned on social media. Part of the reason why I hate to even engage in social media groups is because the information gets lost and cannot be found through a search. Either way it's not common and I believe the failures where do to pushing a lot of meth through them.

Plus on my setup should hit over 900 not even maxing the blower out which is wild.

Aren't you doing the same thing here as social media? Throwing out what you "believe" as "grapevine" type of talk? Without actually knowing what really happened? ^^

No not at all because I am not saying there is an issue with Kong X port. I just am reporting where the "grapevine" talk came from and what was mentioned to have "potentially" caused the failure.

Believing where it came from and believing it at all are two different things. This is where reading comprehension comes into play.

I saw Jokerz post a pic of an LT4 blower about 2-3 months ago saying something about this is why we don't use epoxy. Apparently the epoxy had failed and he mentioned that it was due to the expansion and contraction of the aluminum in the blower. He did not state where the blower came from but one could infer from his post. To my knowledge this may be the ONLY blower I've seen with epoxy that failed and I don't know any details about the car that it was removed from. I'm inclined to believe that the failure rate is ridiculously low though otherwise Kong's reputation would be mud by now. Granted, I would have rather have seen it welded than epoxied though.

If that actually happened I would believe it to be more of a chemical breakdown from the car running meth than anything IMO. I was messaging Greg Kong back and forth this morning about the X-Port and he thought for what I was doing with the car should help power wise of course and also help move the efficiency later in the power curve.

He and I also exchanged a few messages. I asked him if he used any epoxy in my 2.65. He said no and asked why I asked. I didn't mention this thread, but his reaction was such that he likely read it. I've had no issues with my X-port or 2650. Unlike most vendors, he's exceptionally good at returning messages.

I see a lot of back and forth. I was considering doing the Big Gulp, Kong X porting, 103TB and a 2.3 pulley. I have stock exhaust manifolds cats, but a free flowing muffler forget the brand but the mufflers are almost non existent LOL. Should I consider not doing the pulley? I see some didnt some did... Also I saw a post that included a Spark Plug change. Is this something that is helpful or better? How often should you change these plugs? Do you have to index them? Sorry went from a supercharged SS to the ZL1 and want to Mod some.
