K&N says this filter is compatible, but the "PSI Relief Valve" parameter, if that is supposed to mean its bypass PSI, is "11-17". The ACDelco PF64 filter GM recommends has a bypass valve specified to 22 PSI. With the variable displacement LT1 oil pump that GM uses (and the lack of experience on my part), I wouldn't want to experiment here.

The specified oil is Mobil1 dexos2 full synthetic 5W-30 or more recently Mobil1 dexos2 ESP 0W-40, but this is another endless holy grail topic, you can find past discussions here easily.

If you can still find 12640445, use that; the latest "upgraded" filter is 12706595 (that has recently replaced 12696048, the direct successor to 12640445), it looks flimsier, but all these 3 are definitely officially supported.

thanks. oh no my camaro will never see a puddle let alone snow. i have a company van and a new suv DD. my camaro is purely a toy.
car's only gone 7k miles so on original tyres.they seem awesome to me. i dont drive fast anymore. just a steady pace
