Dashboard Question

Going to be looking at a new/used ZL1 soon and had a question about the top of the dash. Is it hard, cheap plastic? I've gotten used to my German car with soft leather and high quality rubber on pretty much everything.

Just wondering so I can plan on having it covered with matching suede if that's the case.

Thanks!

Damn! Ok. Looks like I'll have to get it wrapped in suede.

Has Anyone Wrapped Top of Dashboard?

Since the otherwise great interior has a cheap plasticky 1980s dashboard top, has anyone covered it with Alcantara or leather to make it look and feel better?

If so, I'd like to see some examples.

Agree with the homelink, annoying omission. However I think this interior blows away its two competitors, the Mustang and Challenger's interiors. Not to say it couldn't be better but it's already worlds beyond those two IMO.

Have a link to the parts and how-to? Would definitely be interested in this if it's a clean solution.

I was just thinking about this this morning. My only concern is where does the passenger airbags deploy from? Is if from the top of the dashboard or the front?

All we did was get a new homelink over head console and move the parts over then made a harness to get power for the unit, thats it.
