Forged Rods Group Buy Details inside low as $549

https://m.facebook.com/groups/258745...46936082412939

Copy and Paste from facebook group let me know if you are interested we already have a few people. I am buying 2 sets as stated below

So in the wake of the HyperHawk disaster, I've been tasked with coming up with affordable options for forged engine components.

Typically a one off set of custom rods would run you between $1000-1500 depending on who makes them. By making multiple sets the cost can come down dramatically.

I need to have a minimum of 5 sets of rods made to get this going, and get you guys an affordable option. This is a one shot group buy deal if anyone is interested as once the rods are made, I will be bound by dealer MAP pricing.

In the future, "Racer Price" will be appx $634 per set if these get made.

On this one shot group buy I can offer pricing as follows:
If we can get 5 people to commit to buying a set of rods, the price will be $599 per set. If we can get 8+ people to commit to buying rods, they price will drop to $549 per set. Price does not include shipping, figure roughly $20 for shipping in the united states, international will be extra. Ben is willing to buy 2 sets to get us started

So how many people want to get in to get this ball rolling!?
All Rods will have ARP2000 bolts included in price.

I guess to clarify, I ( Jason@JacFab ) am the one that is organizing the group buy to get this going. We've done something similar a few years back to get forged rods for the LFX guys, so same deal here. To my knowledge nothing out there exists for the LGX yet, so this is your chance to get in on the ground floor to get these made and save some $$ while you're at it.

I'm somewhat interested, but am afraid install costs might be too prohibitive. What's the typical ballpark install rate? About $1,000-$2,000?

Complete side note. Hows the Superchager doing for you? and how much did it cost you?

Supercharger is a lot a fun. After driving it for a few weeks, going to drop it back off for some additional tuning and will provide an update after that.

As a developmental vehicle, I did not go through the typical retail channels and received a discount. I think a similar kits would be around $6,000.

You wouldn't want to install the rods just by themselves, you'll want to have forged pistons to go along with them. We will be doing another group buy on pistons once they rods are made, as I will want to confirm some rod dimensions to make sure the pistons are compatible.

We don't have a hard number on piston cost yet, but I'm hoping the pistons will be somewhere in the 600-800 range but its too soon to tell at this point.

So you're basically building an engine suited for boosted applications. If you can't assemble the engine yourself, you'll be paying someone else to do it. That cost can vary from shop to shop, and will also vary depending on how much of the labor you can, or want to do your self. Will you pull the engine, and reinstall yourself? Or will you just take it to a shop and have them do everything. Way to many variables to really put a price on it.

If you can do everything yourself, you're looking at the cost of the rods, pistons, gaskets, etc for everything needed to reassemble, plus the cost of having the rotating assembly balanced.

If you're dropping your car off somewhere and having someone else do all the work, you could be looking at a few thousand dollars more on top of just the parts and a simple rotating assembly balance job.

If the group buys happen the plan is I will be doing full tear down and rebuild of an engine all documented as well as engine removal and reinstall etc.. I will be learning as I go but this will be a great opportunity to provide some content and information to you guys. So if anyone is interested in tackling this project themselves but just is unsure know this content will be coming.

That's awesome. Did they have the car for long? and was the discount big?

Most are under a NDA for that information. Also it's just good ettiquette to not share. However if you want to make a safe assumption I would say he probably got free labor and tuning at the least. There is a respect in the marketplace to not share that kind of information.

Just an update on the group buy, we're currently sitting at 9 people all from/on facebook. So anyone that was holding out hoping to get the max discount, we're there, the group buy will remain open right up until I take deposits from all parties on the list, probably 4-5 weeks from now. I will be sending off the stock rod and bearing to the forged rod manufacturer today, est delivery of the forged LGX rods is 8-10 weeks.

Bump for info - Rods are 6-8 weeks out they are being made to support power beyond 13psi and of course anything under that as well. The group buy will be open until approximately 2 weeks before delivery. Piston group buy will be available as soon as all the details are worked out.

These rods will not work with OEM pistons ( Not sure why anyone would want do do that ) but just putting that information out there as well.

Any questions feel free to him me up.

Added MikeG to the list, that puts us at 11. We are already at the max discount, but if we hit 12, I can also offer free shipping (inside the ConUS)
