Parts confusion at dealership...has THIS ever happened to anyone??

Hey all...

Proud owner of a 2017 SS A8. Purchased the GM performance cold air intake, sway bar kit and performance suspension kit.

Cold air intake and reprogramming has been done at the dealership - very happy with the results.

Took it back today to have sway bar kit installed. Parts were basically kept there in their inventory until I was ready to bring my car in.

Tech comes back to me and says that my car ALREADY HAS both the sway bar kit AND the lowering performance suspension kit parts on the car, as the part numbers for the performance parts are the exact same part numbers as whats installed on my car right now (sway bars, end links, struts).

My service adviser printed out my car's build sheet from when it was purchased originally (different dealership - I bought the car used with ~10K miles), but even on the sheet it states "FE3 performance suspension". No mention of factory performance suspension installed.

What gives? I'm having a hard time reconciling this to 100% my luck. Apparently, there must have been a goof-up somewhere down the line. I don't think the stock FE3 suspension components and the performance parts share the same part numbers. If you order the car with the sway bar and lowering kit, will that show up on the build sheet, or is it the dealership's (which installs those parts when the car arrives prior to handing it over to the buyer) responsibility to update the build-sheet with the performance parts ordered?

Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

BTW, I'd get under there and check for myself, but I'm crippled (paralyzed from chest down...use wheelchair 100% of the time).

There always is the possibility that the first owner did the upgrade.

Can you post some pictures of your cars stance and wheel gap? I think I'd be able to tell if it had the lowering kit. It's entirely possible that the prior owner had the kit installed afterwards either by themselves or at a dealer.
