I thought the stock NPP with the valves open was basically a straight pipe and bypassed the stock muffler. Don't all the aftermarket axle-backs do the same thing... bypassing the mufflers when the valves are open?

Not true! On the stock NPP the exhaust flow is still routed through the muffler, albeit a less restrictive path. Some aftermarket systems do route through straight pipe when ”open”, some don’t.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. So if an aftermarket axle-back is also "still routed through the muffler, albeit a less restrictive path" then it's not gonna be a huge improvement in sound?

I think it sounds good! And the fact it’s not $1600 for 2 mufflers that’s a plus for me

My axle sounds much better than OEM as it’s more deeper and robust but not obnoxious

It's a very big improvement. Listening to something like the Borla Atak axleback vs stock, it is night and day.

This system utilizes our Outlaw race mufflers for "track mode", which we feel delivers a considerable sound difference between the American Thunder Axle-back and the stock NPP system.

You've given your ride more grunt with that new exhaust system, now help it breath better by installing one of our Delta Force Performance Air Intake Systems under the hood! Our Performance Air Intakes, when paired with our Cat-back or Axle-back systems are sure to put a grin on your face! Increased horsepower, increased torque and increased FUN!

Please call 707-544-4761 or visit Flowmastermufflers.com for additional application and product information.

The NPP cut out I’ve seen is a straight pipe. Yes it goes into and out of the suitcase, and it is perforated, but it’s a straight pipe.

How many decibels does the flowmaster make on a stock car. Dont want to get kicked off the race track. 105 is the limit.

I have a ZL1
