Going under the knife on the 29th | Another guess my results thread....
Dropping off for Round 1 of Mods. JDP Motorsports will be installing a CAI Intake, VMax TB, Maggie HB, Alky Control Methanol Injection, ATI Damper w/10% pulley, Kooks LT's w/cats and an Elite PCV system. We'll be installing a set of Weld RTS wheels with drag radials in back and skinnies up front.
So, the millions dollar questionS: 1. What's my WHP going to be? 2. What will I run here at 4500 ft in the 1/4? My best was 13.062 at 108.95 in stock form with 1LE replicas and 305 F1s on back. Closest one gets a treat lol. I'll be running it here locally almost immediately after picking it up. Let's hear it, guys and gals......

1. 600-650whp
2. I'm going to guess mid to high 11's I live just north of Salt Lake so i'm interested in how it will run also. I assume the runs were done at RMR?

Wow, nice and congrats! Which CAI are you using that fits with the Maggie?

600hp 11.50 at sea level maybe more like 666hp10.98 (just guessing, no actual data to support)

If you're going over 650 at the wheel you better have him add some forged pistons ($1200 I think) to that. It's not a guarantee that they'll go, but it seems to be the Achilles heal of the LT1 for the C7 guys.

The Heartbeat has some big potential if you can give it some fuel and pullies it can make some big steam.
I have personally made 850 RWHP with one on a ZL-1 on our 416 with E-85 Good luck on the build and the track, keep us posted. Ted.

590RWHP and low 11s at the track is my guess.
How are you going to measure crank HP when you say you want 750? Extrapolate from RWHP and add 15% like most folks I guess? That would be about 637RWHP if my math's right. Not sure you'll get that much. The methanol injection will help with IATs, but if your tuner actually tunes more timing in to the car to take advantage of it he's a brave man. Not sure how much more boost the 10% will give you, but you'll need at at your altitude more than likely. It may end up being a wash. I'd have skipped the more expensive ATI damper on a stock motor and would have dropped a pulley size on the blower to save a few bucks and achieve the same result. Should be a fun car when done. |

Yeah, you are going to run out of fuel pressure with the mod list you have. I'm sure JDP will point you in the right direction. Depending on what you do to the fuel system I can see you making 635 whp and running 10.9 with that mod list.

Probably going to have to address the fuel tank fuel pump. I see them losing pressure at 580hp on my dyno. The meth kit might hold it.

There's plenty of fuel there for mid 600 WHP. Using 20% loss as I'm an auto, that's nearly 800 crank. Using 15% I'm still happy with those numbers. When I was full time at JDP, we made 632 with an ECS kit on 8lbs in a C7. I will be downsizing the upper pulley a bit as well as doing the 10% lower to get boost where I want it at our altitude. At those power levels, I believe the damper to be a very good idea. Methanol is there for its benefits and benefits alone. Jordan isn't into adding tons of timing with the meth. Safety first.
I love the Input, everyone. THANK YOU! I for sure will be giving thought to the thoughts expressed here. Jared

Ran a 10.82 @ 128.3 with a stock 2016 SS A8, maggie, 90mm upper pulley (7.5psi), 50/50 mix of 109/91 fuel, and 305 nittos. This was nearly at the limit of the fuel system (at least as far as I was willing to push it) and was making 670HP at the crank and 610 at the wheels (both measured - these 6s seem to have a pretty efficient driveline).
You'll have more power capability than this at sea level with extra fuel from the injection system (although you shouldn't need it at altitude). I think you'll be able to just squeeze into the 10s at 4500ft, my guess goes in at 10.97@126MPH... |
