Wow, that is a pretty good jump on the trade in. What was the last offer on the new car price?

I dont know how rare the IBM's are getting yet due to the color going away, but don't let them play games or jerk you around anymore than necessary...you are the one with the money, they are selling a mass produced product. Remind them if needed that you can go elsewhere. Hope it works to your satisfaction.

I got mine for less than what trucar.com shows simply by asking. I also got full, maximum trade-in credit for my trade. Dealers will negotiate. Go buy it today or Monday...it's the end of the month and they're motivated.

One thing that comes into play in the whole equation is this car is not and has not been sitting around on a dealership's lot. It just arrived this week at a dealership 2 states away (Northern Virginia). IBMs are pretty rare especially how I want mine built (2SS RS, Gray Leather, sunroof, 6 speed manual, rally stripes). It's always easier to get a "good deal" on a car that's been on a lot for several months, not the case here.

Serious bit: A 2LT/RS with 6000 miles is worth a lot more than 22K, it's almost new! The year means nothing. They'll turn around and ask 27 or 28 for that. I know you have a couple of K wiggle room there, fight for it man. Tell them you are ready to go through with everything today if they'd offer $23,900 for your car.
Sarcastic bit: I didn't know V6 to V8 was a "trade up" except for on these forums, trade up in what; maintenance cost, gas cost, tire cost, brake cost, squeaky brakes, 80 hp? The difference is a smart car worth of HP. Uh oh I shouldn't have said anything haha.... Camaro to Aston Martin, Camaro to Lambo: those are trade ups. According to wikepedia "The term upgrade refers to the replacement of a product with a newer version of the same product." Would this not apply??

Going back tomorrow after work. Looks like it's a done deal. My $1,000 Chevrolet Private offer expires after tomorrow. I'm pretty stoked. My insurance will go up $3/month

I think you can do better on both ends.
Get to invoice and then talk. They could bump up your trade a little. If you balk that's what they will bump. Based on their first offer I', thninking they will go to 23K

I believe 2LT's will only go for about $25k-$26k trade in at most dealers based off of types of numbers my mom got from a few dealers, and the one closest dealer would not budge off of like $25,500-$26k on her 2011. In the end she still made the swap for 2SS at another dealer that may have given her about $27k for her 2LT.
