I love the fact that because it is a test mule that it must be a 427...lol

I would believe more that it was the direct injected engine.

Just kinda funny, ... there is NO WAY to tell what size the N.A. motor is in a car by looking at the exterior of the car

I think you could be on to something, The article says they rule out a V6 because "it was said to sound like a V8" He forgets that GM has said they are working on a better sounding exhaust , That very well could be what we see .

It would actually be a phenomenal accomplishment if they could make a 6 sound like an 8. That would definitely ease the pain of V-8s becoming more expensive as oil runs out.

The grille and front bumper (V6 bumper with mail slot) is the same front the Camaro IVER's had in 2007-2009. In case you don't know, IVER's were the Camaro test mules that were spotted back in '07-'09. Here are other details I noticed:
-"6" decal in front and rear windows
-bar code scanner decal on windshield (driver's side, bottom)
-Michigan manufacturer plates
-"SS" or "RS" emblem removed from stock location on trunk (poor job because glue still remains)
-NPP exhaust sticking through a poorly cut rear diffuser
-Ignition cut-off switches sticking through rear diffuser
-Slightly lower ride height compared to SS (1LE suspension maybe??)

All of this adds up to something interesting. If you take into consideration the LS7 VIN card story in December 2012 and the eyewitness claim of a V8 sound as the car drove by, I wouldn't be surprised if we're looking at a LS7 Camaro test mule.
