I've noticed that the dash infotainment is pretty optimistic. I went on a long highway trip and the hand calculated average was 24. Daily commute in mixed conditions I'm sure it's in the teens.

I've owned my car since new (8 years) and have never reset the second trip odometer. It shows after 43K miles the average MPG to be 20.6. The best 50 mile segment is 30.5 (interstate on cruise control at 70-75 mph). I don't worry about gas mileage but I'm pleased that the LT1 does this well. I drive in a normal fashion most of the time but every trip I find a spot or two to rip through the gears - just because .......

Two weeks shy of 26 months in my hot little hands:
15,517 miles 48 fill-ups Best tank: 27.93 (Knoxville, TN to/fro MYR) Worst tank: 13.37 (2nd week of "winter blend" fuel in KNX?) Weighted avg. of all tanks: 20.70 MPG FWIW the on-board MPG calculator, for my "Trip B" (re-set at every fill-up), has read higher-than-actual on 37 of the fill-ups, lower-than-actual on 11. The overall error is a factor of 1.0225; "highest high" was 1.1064, "lowest low" was 0.9695. "Trip A", though, which I never re-set, and which is therefore a record of the car since I got it: RIGHT ON THE MONEY at 20.7 MPG!

Just hit 5K miles and it looks like I am averaging 10.0 MPG
On a recent road trip... I drove as modest as possible for the first 30miles... and hit 15.8 mpg with an average speed of 67 mph.... Not bad for 900hp ???

I had my 50th for a few years and this is about what I got as a 3 season daily driver in New England. 11 mile commute through mixed backroad / highway / city.

I thought it was weird to have such an option, then I realized I'm a neat freak and it gave me the ability to "clean up" my info screen options exactly to my liking |

I do it manualy, as I don't trust in the onbard computer, filling in the same gas pump to full each time and with the real miles since last filling, i got this table. I have a 17 v6 and also a 18 elantra 2.0. Camaro averages 28.81 and Elantra 34.69.
I drive them in long distances and hill roads almost every time, kind of spirited driving also. |

If the TRIP2 is showing 20.6 over that many miles, I would estimate your actual is probably about 19. |

On my 2020 2SS I keep every receipt at fillup and write the mileage on the back so I can compare mileage vs. amount at fillup. I'm pretty much getting 17mpg because I do my driving on regular roads and have a Range AFM eliminator so I'm running on all 8 all the time.

We should all take our LT1s, SSs, and ZL1s to the track for a couple hours then take a picture of the MPG screen and sent it to anyone you know who cries about gas guzzlers or climate change

I think if I took my car to the track, they would have a reason to complain. Now if I was driving to my mothers house on the highway doing 60 miles an hour for three hours, that’s a different story.
