Hell, I only paid $395 for my Red Brembo 4 piston Brake calipers on all 4 corners and they are much more impressive looking than these...

The best advice is to stick to your guns, be frank about what price you want to pay, and be ready to walk when they turn it down. Watch out for added line items on your bill and upsales.

Cash buyers get worse deals, FYI... you’ve just taken another way for the dealer to make money off the table.

In most cases, I’d agree with this. I typically, but not always finance with a lender that’s associated with the dealer. I ask how many months I need to hold the loan, so that you can get your cut? We then work the finance rate and amount to be loaned into an agreement to lower the price of the car, then I pay off... in ~ 2-3 months. Some dealers pretend to not know what I’m talking about, and others are onboard.

My wife and I bought a new RX350 a couple of weeks ago. Intended to pay cash, and was getting ready to write the check when our salesman informed us that Lexus is currently offering 0% for 36 months. Couldn't resist that, 0% after negotiating the best deal, not 0% on retail is a hell of a deal.

Do some research on what all the options cost the dealer. Can't tell if that is a Lexus dealer or not, but if it is, they didn't do negotiation by corporate policy. Times have changed so who knows, costs nothing to try.

Someone said wait until end of the month, which is smart. If possible, wait until the end of Sept. A shitty weather day helps a bit too.

There are a bunch of sites that give you insight to what cost are/should be in your area. Sorry, I just looked for links for the ones I used not long ago. KBB, Edmunds, Car buyer or something. Don't be afraid to cast your net further, you may find a similar/better car a little further away.

That is huge money to be giving to anyone so get what you want for a price you are really comfortable with. I got a 2SS 1LE, right color etc. that exceeded what I hoped to find taking this path.

Good luck!

RealCarTips was one place I started. May get some good advice there, and there is a fellow from a Chevy Dealership who has some youtube videos out that may be insightful.

Sounds good. I typically go with pre-approved loan from my bank. Then when we negotiate price, it is usually worth a few hundred to them if I use their bank. They are definitely incentivized to get you to go with their bank.

Lexus cars in general are more GT cars than they are sports cars. At the same time, sports car pricing logic doesn't work on luxury cars and vice versa.

That aside, however, I just showed the posting to a guy who knows a bit about Lexus and he pointed out to me that these brakes indicate this car may not be an F Sport variant. I looked up and he seems to be right: F Sport is supposed to have two-piece rotors in the front.

Basically, the idea is that you shouldn't mention cash until the very, very end, and when you are talking about it to the financial officer(not the salesperson). Make sure the out-of-door price is worked out with the salesperson, and you should still act like you are interested in financing even if you aren't. If the financing deals they give you don't work out for you, you can say cash in the end.

I CERTAINLY wouldn't pay for the window tint or the painted brake calipers. You could do both those yourself for $300. They can EAT their "customization" just like I would at trade-in IMO, if they want to sell a car.

Agree 110% hate when dealers pull this gimmicky stuff ! All the dealers near me insist on pin-striping every car. When is the last time a customer asked for pin-striping ? 1967?

They said 55k is their best price. I offered 52k. And he texted me “if anything changes let me know”. I said thank you.

I will not text back!

Japanese cars aren't like American cars. The negotiation room is way smaller.

I think it comes down to how much of crap your wife gives about driving. You can look into a loaded Honda Accord or Mazda 6 if badge doesn't matter to you. They are decently equipped and if your wife isn't driving hard, who cares if it's FWD.

Especially when the said customization looks horrible.

That yellow front caliper makes the thing look like a banana... Seriously, who thought it was a good idea?

I would go with the $48K lowball offer too. Don't say you are paying with cash if you are, don't allow big document fees or the other add-ons from the finance department, and be prepared to walk away.
