QuickJack BL-5000SLX or EXT?
Hi fellas,
I know either of these models will ultimately work, but does anyone who has either model wish they had gotten the other? I know we’re only talking about a 6” difference in length between the two but that could be significant for reasons I’m not aware of. Thanks, Chris |

Seems like the go to for Gen6 is the EXT model. On my ZLE, I measured 58" between jack pads so it would seem both the SLX and EXT would work. I'm likely just going to pick up the 7000EXT to be future proof. Plus they are all on sale right now.

As there is a significant price difference between the SLX and EXT, it would be best if the SLX would work. I'm curious if a Camaro owner has found that the SLX works fine.

Does the 7000 EXT work the same as the 5000 EXT, just with more weight capacity?

I have the 5000SLX and it wont reach the recommended jack points without the EXT add-on I bought. With the EXT add-on it is just enough to reach the zl1addons jack pucks.

The EXT version barley reaches the two lift points near the front & rear wheels. I’ve seen people use the regular version & use the rear lift point & the second lift point in the front. I’m uncomfortable with this because most of the weight is hanging off the front end. I have the 7000lb ext

i highly recomend the SUV/truck adaptors at their lowest settings so that you can hit the lift points that a 4 post lift would use under the vehicle. i'll see if i have some pictures.
also, it may not matter but i think youre lifting in the wrong direction with your quickjack which is forcing too much weight over the nose. youve got the front at the back

If you are concerned about weight being too far forward, make sure you have a full tank of gas before you lift or throw a 50# bag of sand in the trunk... I've lifted with 1/4 tank of fuel and it still seemed very stable...

I try using the lifting points closest to the front wheels. I typically take off the front wheels and leave the rear wheels on the car to balance the weight a bit. That is unless I’m doing brake work, like in this picture. I would recommend getting the 7000 EXT version, why not spend the extra money on the ability to lift heavier vehicles and the flexibility to reach almost any lifting point on the car.
