I felt no performance loss going from 275 rears to 315 NT05's. To me, the car feels firmer and more grounded, and I am much more confident around curves and corners. Plus I love the stance and look. All positives in my book.

I have the Motivo's in 275/315 and honestly I felt no difference with turning from my stock tires. Granted I am lowered on DSE springs and have ZL1 Sways installed and alignment specs per JusticePete but my car handles great to me, no issues that he speaks of. I don't feel like a boat and my turn in is great due to my alignment specs.

But I can see what he means. I don't ever drive aggressive nor track so to me I am fine. Maybe my next go around I will go with 285 and see the difference. I know so far these are a lot better than the PZero's.

And this may be the main consideration if you're moving fairly well beyond what the manufactuer's engineers or those that have sufficient track experience recommend. If you don't drive your Camaro on the track, and don't drive aggressively, than run whatever suits your fancy. You will never have to deal with understeer, oversteer or any of the handling issue what those that track have to consider before making suspension and tire changes. Those that run non-standard setups, and feel that it's no different than the OEM or recommended track set-ups, don't drive their cars at or near the limit, period.

Run what you want, within reason of course, and enjoy your car (or the looks of your car), just have reasonable expectations as to how it will affect it.

+1 Homeless you will be fine, many other members have gone with this setup. You must have collected a lot of cans and loose change to afford this. Post some pics when you get it done.

315s

Thats right Homeless. If you don't track your car and drive it to the ragged edge of control (I don't), they will be fine.

If you are doing it for the look, you wont be disappointed. Within one week of getting my 1LE I changed out the goofy looking stretched Goodyears for 305s. This spring I went to MPSS 315/285s. Looks like it should have been designed that way.

i have the stock SS setup and i want to get 295s for the rears next time i get new rear tires...is this just an issue when you widen the front tires or all 4 tires? 295 doesnt seem too wide for the SS. also does anyone know where you can still get nitto invos...i went to a tire shop a couple months ago to get 2 invos for my fronts an the salesman said nitto is discontinuing the invos, not making them anymore. wasnt sure why. i ended up getting the NT555 G2 tires, great tires.

Yea and a lot of panhandling. Also, anyone have an answer the last question in my original post about spedo and TC?

Speed/Traction Control

Mine were not affected at all by changing to the 315/285 combination.

We have those radar speed monitors by the side of the road and I'm always right on as I pass one.

Yea I think the difference is 1MPH or less but as the miles add up it makes a difference

I've been running Motivos 275/40 315/35 for over 15K miles on my daily driver. I have never had any of these issues. I'm totally happy with them. Doesn't hydroplane any worse than the original P Zeros. I have better traction and handling than the P Zeros. Like some have already said, on a DD your gonna be fine and it should drive/handle better than with the Pirellis. I'm not sure how people are making these claims not having driven on both tires/sizes.

You should have ordered the 275/40/20 for the front. That would be the closest in diameter to the 315/35/20 on the rear, which is advisable to avoid issues with the traction control system.
Since those sizes are the same diameter as the stock tires there would be no problems with speedo calibration.
I had Nitto Invo tires on my car in 275/40/20 front and 315/35/20 rear with no problems. The steering was a bit heavier with the 275s in front is all.

don't listen to failshift, the guy is a debbie downer on almost every thread he comments on... although so are you sometimes lol. Anyway, I'm currently running the 275/315 combo on Conti DW summer tires, Not a single issue in rain or even down in the cool temps. The wider tires grip amazing and make the car feel like its on rails. Contrary to popular belief the V6 still breaks the 315s loose on dry pavement so the V8 can definitely use all the tire it can get.
Unlike you though I went with the 275/40 series and somewhat wish i wouldve gone with the 275/35 for less sidewall.
