GT500 fastest Timeslip vrs ZL1 fastest timeslip

ok, I am REAL tired of hearing how awesome that car is when every experience I have had with it, including the one where i tried to go buy it but could not get passed the crap MANUAL seats (they look nice, but suck to sit in, and are ONLY available in manual no power) the second rate suspension and Brakes and the few run ins I have had with them in my caddy say otherwise.

I decided to get on THE mustang forum (its actually a pretty neat site) and pull there fastest timeslips and post it with ours and show you how they compare.

the zl1 fastest stock motor time list Wont let me copy paste (kinda dumb)

if you look, the zl1 has actually went faster than the gt500 has when done by the best with nothing held back...

I appreciate your intentions...but the first word in the title is "GT500"...and it says "vrs"....I've moved this to it's appropriate area. You'll find many ZL1 owners frequent that section, so you'll get plenty good responses.

The ZL1 forum is for ZL1-only, or very closely ZL1-related content (like does the 1LE share the same axles...the answer is "no").

Uhhh boy, here we go. Honestly, a Modded vs. Modded thread has no meaning what so ever. All that comes down to is the amount of money being thrown into a car.

no, if you look the two best shops do everything.. the only diff is the gt500 blew up.. the zl1 got sold and as far as I know is still kicking.

these are my favotie becasue that forum is just so quick to bash a car for being slow if the number are off but yet when there numbers are off it was a bad day at the track.

which is true but call it like it is both sides of the fence or call you own car a fat pig with bad traction.

Are you serious? The fastest GT500 up there that was modded probably had less than HALF of the money to what the fastest ZL1 had in it. Think about that for a minute...

The only REAL comparison is the fastest STOCK times and the GT500 has the ZL1 SMOKED!!! Of course we already know that the GT500 is superior in a straight line anyway.

Back to the modified cars. ALL BETS are off the table once you modify because it comes down to who has the deepest pockets. The only way to keep it fair, is to do a complete apples to apples comparison by doing the same mods to each car.

Both cars are great and anyone who can afford to own either is lucky if you ask me.

but they are quick to call this thing faster than a Z06 and that is .5 off the fastest Z06 time.

Looking at the trap speeds, I'd guess the GT500 is bogging off the line a little and once it gets going, it's going.

I'm pretty sure I saw a video on youtube of a '13 GT500 running a Z06 and the GT500 pulled it (slowly...) Let me search.

neither of those have anything to do with 1/4 mile. 1/4 mile is ET that is it end of story. I used to smoke cars in bracket nova that traped 10mph higher than me all the time. 1.4 mile is not a roll race.

I have no doubt that once you up to speed the extra 150hp the gt500 has levels the playing field.

I am only pointing out Z06's have run 10.7's stock.

but your are right stock vs stock the GT500 is just a faster car. I just get irritated by all the bias and skewing of numbers they are what they are. if you really look at the best vs best and worst vs worst they are about .5 apart which makes complete sense consider the 80hp 300lb advantage.

In mineshaft air, with perfect track prep and a driver who know's what he's doing, yes the Z06 will run in the 10's.

look up a guy with the handle ranger he flat kills it. His times were consistalty .5 better than mine. Poeple on the internet like to think it is weather for everthing but good drivers will consistangly get good times. Even in bad weather there time will be better than average drivers.

500+ hp car always have traction issue on street tires. you are always modulating the power.

You think money keeps places like evolution and livernois from going faster?

And what the mustang guys DONT SAY are all the suspension mods they have on those cars.. the gt500 IS NOT better in a straight line or a corner. . Ford just gives them a good edge off the showroom floor.. its called boost.. ANY zl with 15 pounds, a cold air and 120mm throttle body ( we cant even get thst big) even completly stock suspension kill it.. ford just came to the fight better prepared. . I say good for them.. zl is still just as capable though.
