This is from Chevy

“This transmission is optimized for speed,” said Camaro Chief Engineer Mark Dickens. “With unique Track Mode calibrations and 10 gears, you are always in the perfect gear when rolling on or off the throttle. You may not be a professional race car driver, but now you can shift like one.”

I'm with many others on the MT/A10 debate. A lot of times at my track days I'm not even keeping track of my lap times so a tenth or even a second here or there either way isn't going to bother me. It is for the experience and to become a better driver.

I did drive an A10 it was just too busy/too many gears for my taste. Besides there are already so many driver aides (rev match/multiple excellent traction modes) in the ZLE it still feels like cheating sometimes even with the MT. I especially like the manual for street driving as it still feels fun to drive the car then to IMO.

Also as others said, to each there own and I'm glad everyone has a choice for what they prefer now.

I will add I've driven quite a few DCTs/PDKs and the A10. While they are all excellent the Porsche PDKs are still king IMO for overall speed/smoothness etc.

FWIW, I've posted on here and said that the 10L90 is better than the 7 speed DCT in our CLA45 AMG. It is subjective, but both cars are in my garage and both get driven. I will have some further insight after December 7th. We attend (the better half and I) the AMG Driving Experience at COTA on that date. We get to drive different AMG models and I hope to gain a bit more experience and insight after this event. I am sure that it won't settle any of the Save the Manual versus 10L90 arguments or convert any DCT / PDK advocates, either. However, I will offer up my take in the FWIW category.
