Whew! Made it in just in time.

You made it just in time. I know how that is. The day I got my windows tinted, shortly after getting the car, it started raining moments after I got the car in the garage. Timing is everything.

That rear shot is nice. Not a view most of us are familiar with seeing, whereas the Rustang guys and gals are. Lol.

This one, by far, is my favorite from that drive after CF7.

(Can't really see how dirty it is.)

Hello fellow Fifty owners. Rare poster here.

I'm moving, and will lose the luxury of having a garage. This also means I will lose the ability to hook up a battery tender while the Camaro sits in winter hibernation.

Can anyone guesstimate how much drain on the battery will take place over the next 3 months? I did have it hooked up to the battery tender until the move, so I'm starting with a fully charged battery. Our winters can get pretty harsh with long periods of sub-freezing temps, not to mention snow/ice accumulations. There is severely limited possibility of starting it up and driving it around until the fluids reach operating temperature, due to the brine/salt/gravel on the roads and still having the OEM runflats.

Any input would be helpful. This is the third winter that I'm hibernating my Fifty, but the first one that will occur outdoors.

Posted this elsewhere, was traveling and parked my 50th anniversary Camaro outside the hotel. Came out in the morning and it had snowed, two leaves were on the matte stripe on the trunk lid in frozen water. Once melted I removed them and dried off the stripe. This was the result, lost cause I suppose:

Getting ready to remove stripe. Can't believe these matte stripes are so sensitive, water spots were bad enough (but could be cleaned off), but this seems to have been a chemical reaction of some sort, it's not residue, the stripe chemically broke down.

Thought I'd make one last attempt to reach out to my Fifty owners for any ideas. I assume going back to the dealership for warranty help is not an option. I'm hesitant to replace the stripes because the problems will continue, but will try and get a set to keep with the car anyway.

The battery won’t make that long without some sort of intervention. Is there any way you can drive it around the new neighborhood? Or let it idle for 30mins occasionally?

My suggestion. Try the dealership route first. I’ve seen just as many get fixed as those denied. It’s a literal 50/50 shot.

Either way once replaced my suggestion would be to either get a backup set or see about getting the vinyl ceramic coated along with the whole car.

Adam, I was afraid of that.

I guess I'll just have to settle for taking the cover off and idling it. Due to my conditions, I'll have to ditch the idea of getting Michelin PS4S in favor of Conti DWS06.

You might could put the vehicle into transport mode and or pull the negative cable on the battery to open the circuit to keep drain from occurring. But it’s no guarantee that will help.

If you put it in transport mode the battery should last ......but. Don’t start the engine unless you get the oil and exhaust really warm /hot. You will create so much condensation and the rust will come. in the worst case remove the battery and store it in your basement recharge it in spring.
