[Zl1+911]

Hey guys, so yesterday I took out a cage (will be available for sale soon), from my newly acquired ZLE. After doing ALL the heavy lifting I am stuck with a relatively simple issue - but an issue nevertheless. The car had rear seats removed for the cage.

I am trying to re install the back seat rest (the top part). And for some reason the hinges are just not wanting to go back into their slots on the sides. From the looks of it - they are about 1/2 inch forward and therefore not lining up with the entry opening. I have tried to push the seat (as u can imagine there isn’t a lot of space in there), tried to lay it flat and push in, tried to stand it up and push down (which seems the likely way it goes in).

I am sure I am not doing something right - before I get too frustrated and start to hammer away - I figured I would “call a friend”.

Any help the community can provide would be helpful.

As I just removed an Reinstalled the seat. Mine just popped out and getting it in was just about getting it to the right angle.

One question- does the top go first or the bottom seat or it doesn’t matter? Thx

Not sure if the SS (Vert) is any different than the ZLE, but the back goes in before the bottom in my case. There is (2) studs that the lower seat back has to slip onto and then nuts. Then the top clips in with the flat spring metal levers. That's even if it's the same? With you talking about hinges on the sides, I'm guessing its not. But I would think the seat back still goes in first.

Yes, the vert is different, the coupe has no nuts.

Checked it in the service manual and it doesn't say much, here are the relevant pages. I haven't removed the rear seatback, but it seems they GM wants you to push the seatback downward into a slot or onto studs.

I figured out the issue- the trim price was not installed properly and hence the seat was not going in - duh
