Notchy shifter

I bought a used 2018 ZLE. The shifter feels a bit notchy. I can feel the synchros when I shift. Is this normal or should I have it looked at?

Are you saying it's always notchy and you always feel synchros, or only when it's cold shifting into 1st, 2nd or reverse?

I'm not sure what you mean by "feel the synchros". If you actually feel/hear it grind into gear then no I never feel that except the 2-3 times over last 2-1/2 yrs when I didn't clutch/shift right and got a buzz from synchros.

There is never any synchro buzz and mine is only a bit notchy when cold, after 5-10 minutes it feels very smooth and firm.

mine is notchy if i dont drive it for a while. after driving it for a day it works itself out.
if it doesnt go away i would check out the clutch to make sure its completely disengaging.
ive been driving with a tr6060 for nearly a decade now, i may be desensitized to it.

I will just have it checked out when I bring it in for the power steering. Just in case. Thanks everyone.

I really don’t think you have any issues with your transmission but get it checked anyway to ease your mind! Those transmissions are tough and shift differently than other transmissions!

The OEM fluid is crunchy at best and down right useless when the temps drop, I've tried Mobil 1 SYN ATF (recommended by Tremec), Redline D4 and Royal Purple Syncromax over the last 30K and the RP is by far the smoothest shifting fluid overall (IMHO) regardless of temperature.

I have a 2018 ZLE. Shifter has always been smooth and seamless regardless of temp.
