Cons of running E85 all the time?

I have a FBO, cammed 18 1LE and about to get a flex fuel tune. Here in Charleston we have plenty of places to get good E.
What are the cons of running Straight E85 all the time??

30% less fuel economy and not recommend to be left in the tank if the car is going into storage.

Tire wear. With all of that extra power you tend to spin the rear wheels a bit more.

There is no downside in my opinion and have been running it on my C7 for about a year. Once you install the flex fuel sensor your tuner will set up another table that adds timing so you'll def feel the additional power it makes. I agree on the storage and what I did I ran mine all the way to November and ran the tank down to about an 1/8 tank or less then added 93 octane and ran it all winter when the days here in Missouri were nice enough to get it out. My C7 picked up almost 1/2 second and 4 mph just by changing over to E85 (E70) and tuning. Can't beat that with a stick, then I added long tubes and xpipe, then retuned again and have went as quick as 11.06@125 w/1.58 60ft. I do of course run a drag radial at the track. My best time on 93 was 12.06@116 w/1.80 60ft

I noticed a post that said its 30% less on fuel economy. Mine will get about 29-30 mpg on 93 octane and 23-24 mpg on E65 to E70 which is what I can usually get in this area. The higher the E content the mileage goes down. So mines not in the 30% range, maybe because of the arrow of the C7 compared to the Camaro which is not a slick going thru the air as the Corvette.

The fuel mileage loss is off set by the lower cost which still makes E cheaper to run.

Far as storing the car with E in the tank... By the time you go to store the car, most areas have switched to winter blend E which is around 65%. I haven't had any issues leaving Winter blend E in the tank while the car is stored inside. Now if we were talking about C85 or X98 from a drum, then yea you might want to dilute that a bit while storing the car.

Joe your winter blend is what I get in the summer here in Missouri. When I first put in E this spring it was under E60.

I read that the MPG reduction was 15%-25% depending on compression ratio and other factors. Just got back from an E85 run today, have to go about 25 miles out to get it, worth the drive, with a couple 5 gallon tanks in the trunk for good measure. Fun moment, some old man yelled at me for hoarding fuel because of the pipeline thing...

You should compare e85 to race fuel not regular fuel, but dollar for dollar e85 is still a better "fuel" deal in our market. We run it in all of our late model cars and trucks which are properly set up to do so.

A major issue will be that you face muscles will hurt from smiling so much do to the overall increase in performance. I also happen to be able to tolerate the smell better than 87-93 and it doesn't tear me up as bad either. BTW.....been running it for two decades.

Thanks for all the Info. Yes it is a Manual car and its my daily driver so no storing. I dont mind the decrease in fuel mileage because it cost less than 93.
Also getting a flex fuel tune with Vengeance Racing, which has already tuned my car for 93.
Thanks guys.

For a little piece of mind, you could also run some Schaeffer's SoyUltra Additive with the e85... I just started using it this past weekend

This is the sales rep I have been going through for my oil and products:

Stefano I totally agree. I smile every time I go WOT and I've been paying 2.25 to 2.40 per gallon and comparing as Lt1King the last time I checked on 93 octane it was 3.19 per gallon. The smell is so much better with corn it makes me wanna put to butter, salt and pepper on it.
