Just picked up the GM hot cam kit with heads for $2440.00. That, with LT2 manifold plus tune should be a good combo...

^ I for one will look forward to seeing your results. Pretty cool to have an all GM set up. I just received my LT2 intake and have had the 95MM TB waiting.

Well that did not work out. GM parts guy cancelled my order, apparently on national back order and no date from supplier....

GM, build this kit with LT2 manifold and tune!

I've watched videos of Westtech Performance and Richard Holdener showing many "n/a" cams doing just fine with a supercharger. I can't imagine this engine is that different, but I don't know if he did any direct injected engines to illustrate this point.

I too have been eyeing this hotcam package, but am pretty sure a cam motion 600 ish lift cam. .625" valve springs, Johnson lifters, and ported heads from Pray or another reputable porter is the way to go. I daily drive mine and don't want to lose much bottom end, but still make a big difference up top.

There was an epic thread here about cam choices and considerations.

The big take away for me was never go 600 or more on lift. ALL of the GMPP cams are 500 lift.

Agree, I just want a bit more pull, for long straights, like 16~17 at Sebring. GM package seemed like a solid choice, not chasing a hp number...

I don’t believe that any of the GM performance kits include a tune other than the recalibration that’s included with the GM CAI.

doesnt make sense that they make all these gm parts but then you have to tune it to work and then void your warranty lol not worth the $$ in my opinion

Say’s “Race Only” it voids the warranty. Tune is required for all race/aftermarket cams except a stock replacement cam.

It’s worth the money IMO. That sound you get on a cam. Priceless.

Don't care about the warranty. But factory engineered parts are always a safe bet. Nothing against after market as I have and do use them also.

Yeah GM says 80 hp with Hot Cam kit with heads. But that’s probably to the flywheel. Aftermarket you can do better. You can get a one year warranty on the GM cam if done by a GM dealership. The hot cam sounds great and mean, but lacks on punch. How do I know, because I did it to my 2016 SS. Would I do it again or aftermarket. 50/50

Results with a supercharger?

The basics are Hot cam (19303897), 8 lifters, 4 lifter trays, and two CNC'ed cylinder heads (19329839) complete with spring/valves, etc.

Summit has the kit at $3102.62. If you price the heads (2*$948) and cam ($575) separately it is quite a bit cheaper. The lifters/trays can't be the only included part...

I will be doing a head upgrade this winter, but not sold on a cam (but do like GM products!). I do desire more top end power, but have limitations on how to do it with German challenges.

GM initially offered it as part of a LT1 crate engine (535 HP/PN: 19355378), but appears to be discontinued:

Thanks.

Boo Hoo Hoo...😩😭I want it!!
