Ft. Benning vs. Ft. Hood
You folks may recall my Summer 2012 thread re: Ft. Hood, TX being a huge home for Camaros.
I've just returned from a lovely 7-week stay at Ft. Benning, GA. While Camaros were definitely represented, I have to say that I saw more Dodge Challengers @ Benning. Informal, non-scientific verdict: Benning is Dodge country, Hood is Chevy country. That is all.

there are plenty of camaros at Ft. Campbell, just can't seem to get them together. Maybe more mustangs around idk.

Naval Weapons Station Charleston is pretty heavy on the older Mustangs, but the Chiefs seem to prefer Camaros. I guess experience leads to better decision-making.

I'm a former Army major and spent time at alot of different bases, Ft. Benning included but never Ft. Hood. Benning mostly infantry, etc, and Hood mostly cav, etc, but I can't imagine why one would have more of one type car over another.

Can't speak to that one, but I can sure say it was mighty interesting to see the distinction b/w Hood and Benning re: which cars seemed to be the majority.

@ USAR2LT
I can account for one 2010 Camaro (SS, black) out of at least 6 at Harmony Church. Yes, there are alot of Chally's too. However, I would still suspect more Camaro's than Chally's. @ Bb2fi3 Ran into an Iraqi who owned a Gen 4 Camaro in Baghdad (circa 2007). It was a 6 cylinder and it was highly stickerized...but I was still shocked to see it. |

They were still building Gen 2 when I was at Benning!

I'll give you folks another informal, non-scientific assessment at the end of Summer 2013 for Ft. Jackson. Another lovely stay there for 3 months in the Palmetto State should prove interesting (among other things, noting which muscle car takes the cake...)

I was stationed at Ft. Hood for 10 years and until the new Camaro came out it was nothing but Dodges every where. If it wasn't a SRT 4, it was a Charger, or a Ram. Then it was the Chrysler 300's. But it's mostly a import scene with the ricers. Use to love going to the track in Temple before the deployments started which killed the scene all around the area. Sunday's were the best as everyone came out to ride around the city and parks.
