What are you all using for a cell phone holder in your 6th gen?

I have a cell phone holder for my 5th gen that attached to the center dash vents. But since my 6th doesn't have those vents, what cell phone holders is everyone using?

This is the one I'm using. I went for the one with a charger. Got it form CourseMotorsports. Pleased with it.

Phone nets from amazon, $11 for a pack of two, one on the driver and the other on the pass side.

I get into the car, plop the phone into this (or on the wireless charging pad if it's low on battery), start the engine, turn on the infotainment, tap Android Auto on the screen and off we go. I also have an AAWireless adapter in the center console, there are no dangling cables in the car whatsoever.

I may have went with that cheap option had a know about it a year ago..lol

But the one I have above comes with a non-charger version that's just a holder. If doing it again, I probably would have gone the none charger route and just plug into the phone if it needed like w/ Wayz on a day trip. That's basically what I do with this charger version anyway (that's just a normal usb wire I'm using that un plugs from the holder just like a phone)!

Yeah, but isn't it about $70 since the mount and the holder are sold separately?

One day I’ll figure out how to properly 3D print and make the wireless charger able to accommodate larger phones

My wireless chargers on all my vehicles have been useless having an iphone max. I thought getting a 2024 would change that but obviously not. The new GM trucks and SUV's have larger pads to accommodate the larger phones.

I just throw mine in the cup holder. I rarely if ever need to charge it in the car, but I have a little usb c cable in the center console, where I can plug it in and shove in there if need be. The car screen does everything I need with wireless android auto, and I rarely use the cup holder for drinks, so little reason to have a mount for me.

With all my Silverados I used Pro Clip. The Camaro I just throw in cup holder like stated above.

In my Blackwing I can actually use the wireless charger. Camaro one was useless (too small).

What holder is that? How does it mount?

Unfortunately the product of having a car designed pre-2015

Any 2020+ car design seems to accommodate the larger phones with varying success (looking at my 2020 X5 that fits every phone but overheats the phone on wireless charging )

Only chance we might’ve had was with the refresh if they decided to change the interior slightly but we were not so lucky

I know I can detach the wireless charger plastic trim (rear section of the center console) off relatively easily, my issue comes with making a 3D model of the current piece as I have 0 experience with 3D modeling. So the easy way out would be scanning it with my iPhone camera system and then figuring out how to change its properties to fit just a few more inches on the top. Then see if my buddy would do a 3D print of one but I’ve yet to enter the 3D printing world so one day it is

Indeed, but unfortunately there hasn't been a Camaro team since late 2018, and let's be honest, wireless charging is neither a dealbreaker nor a salemaker for a sports car.

Just an idea, but you could also trim all protruding ridges off the existing plastic tray after popping off the rubber mat, then trimming the mat itself as well. I did only the latter, see below, and all phones in the family fit on the charging pad now. (No, we aren't exactly phone enthusiasts, so even the newest one is a 2021 model.)
