No build sheet, no pre-orders.

My dealer said they'd do everything they could to make sure I can turn in my 14 and step into a 16 in November but they have no pre order or build sheet at this time. That was last Thursday June 4th.

You can put a deposit down. That's about it right now. Have a dealer call you when the orders open up.

That's about all and I wouldn't recommend it.

My salesman just called and said his manager would "let me put a deposit down on a 2016" I said Why would I put a deposit on something I can't even order yet? I did however tell him I would be right there with a deposit the minute ordering opens up so call me. He said he would.

Quick question. If you guys are putting orders in now, will you be able to negotiate the price at all or are you just going to pay what ever the dealer tells you?

I've done deposits in advance of the ordering bank opening. For the C6, $500 in December and the order bank opened the following May and regular production started the first Monday in August. That turned out to be a first (VIN ending 0708) week build.

By the way, GMAuthority is predicting August 13 for the Gen6 Order Bank opening.

Almost forget, MSRP was written on the Order Sheet and non-GMS because at that point in time I was not eligible for employee pricing.

Deposits are NOT required when ordering an automobile. Please be careful about giving someone your money this far in advance.

This site has more up-to-date info than the local dealership. I knew about my Camaro (2010) tracking, from the Camaro5 site, before the dealership.

True, deposits are not required and I have ordered cars with no deposit.

When I have used a deposit to order, either I was ordering a potentially high demand unit or I was ordering an unusual option combination.

So the question to ask is this: will there be a high demand for the new generation Camaro and I want to be first in the neighborhood, or, in the alternative, am I wanting an option combination that meets my wishes but may not be generally popular. I have been guilty of both.

My dealer called today and says he has all the order specs for all models and that he can configure it for order but no prices as yet. He told me to come down tomorrow and configure the car the way I wanted. Don't know if he is smokin crack, but I am going down there!

He said tomorrow. Who's to say if the system won't come alive tomorrow, the beginning of Q3 ..... Plus you can't call BS when I said " he may be smokin crack". That statement alone allows the entire statement to be BS in the first place. Sorry.

Went to Chevrolet dealership to place order

I went to Eagle Chevrolet in Riverhead Long Island last week and they said that they've already taken a few orders and that i was more than welcome to place an order now. Not sure if they are just creating a list of people who will have first priority when ordering DOES become available or if they actually can place the orders with GM yet. I tried asking without sounding interrogative to the guy. He did confirm GM did not send them the option list, so they don't know exactly what options will be available at launch or if there will be special packages such as a 1LE or similar. Options i want based off information currently available is 2SS, quad exhaust, Black exterior, Red leather seats, black rims, whatever package has the touch screen and ambient lighting, sunroof, and a rear lip spoiler if available instead of the high one.
