Price Guesses
There are a few threads on performance figures compared to the Mustang and Challenger, but what of price? Lighter with some extra power is nice, but not if its going to be pretty expensive by comparison.
From what I can gather from the Marketing blurbs from Chevrolet, the 4-pot will be the standard engine with the option of a V6, finally topping out with the V8 on the SS.
The S550 Mustang starts at $23800. I think Chevrolet will be aggressive and include more standard equipment, with both 8" screens being part of the equipment list. My guess is $25,000 starting price. Add $1500 for the 8-speed, slightly cheaper than the more robust version used in the Corvette. LT trim is where it gets tricky. I'm guessing $28,000 for the i4 1LT, but how much extra to get the V6? $1200? $1500? $2000? Or do you think it'll be 1LT = i4, 2LT = V6 and both can have the same options available? SS will be around $35,000, topping out at $41k for the 2SS. RS Package will probably remain as-is, around $2000 extra for some chrome trim and silly-big wheels. Those prices sound reasonable to me. Any more expensive and I think they'll price themselves out. Thoughts?

You can go directly to the ATS and look at some of the content up charges.
As for the base car, I expect GM to use the 2.0T as the lower cost alternative, but just like the ATS, I also expect you can get it in a premium trim level. I'm also not sure GM directly holds current trim levels. Note for the Malibu it sure sounded like LTZ was gone and Premium was the new moniker. But I just priced out a current 2SS RS with 1LE with Sunroof and NAV. Left off all the special packages. That car priced out at well over $44,000. Add MR Shocks to that bill and add the value of increased performance as well as a normal 2 or 3% annual markup and that car will run you $47,500 and it would not surprise me to see a 2SS loaded up to be really close to $50,000. What GM seems to have done lately is hold the base prices but put a bigger spread on them. For example you can spend about $70,000 on a Tahoe. Yikes! So look for the 2.0T to have standard brembos, maybe standard TFT (not base or even available on the ATS) and a few other improvements and hold the current base price. But GM will have to be careful with the V6 to V6 comparison with the Mustang. Ford upcharges for the I4 Ecoboost so GM really needs to come in lower IMO with the 4 cylinder. Even though all appearances are GM will have a far superior V6, unless Ford has something up it's sleeve. GM now has AFM on the V6 which may get close to the 4 cylinder in EPA testing for the highway number. All that being said..... Base Camaro will hold near current and be $24,900 with a range all the way up to $50,000 with out "special packages" and goodies.

They only mentioned an LT and SS model. I think the LS is gone. The 4 turbo will just be the base engine in the LT.

SS will blow by 41k loaded. That's what a loaded GT goes for (more like 42). There is a ton of content on the Camaro that isn't even an option on the GT. I'm guessing 35-46k.

Like I said, I priced out a 2SS RS 1LE with sunroof and NAV. $45,000 now. I have to believe that goes up and then add the rear diff and MRC you are at pretty much $50k

Here's the thing. The auto companies want you to buy the highest mpg options they have so they will entice you with that option through pricing. Why? In 2025 the CAFE standards go to 54.5 mpg averaged across their fleets. They want to have credits to use so the higher their average mpg is now the more credits they bank and thus they will be able to sell the high power sports and luxury cars in the future. One thing for sure, get your V8 now because when 2025 hits that option is going to cost a fortune.

I hope a loaded SS doesn't hit 50k, although it just may with the magnetic ride and all that. I'd be happy with a 38k-42k For the techno goodies and leather interior etc.

Do you even lift, bro?

I'll be PISSED and wont buy if a fully optioned (even year from now performance/1LE) version is anywhere NEAR even $45K
My LOADED 2013 2SS RS 1LE with cup/footwell lighting/NAV etc was $41K and I was one of the very first people to order one and I think I had the second one delivered in the U.S. Absolute MOST I'd pay for the same, fully optioned out "1LE" equivalent version a year or more from now would be $42K, MAYBE $43K but I doubt it

I would have to say I agree, probably around 50k for a loaded SS with magnetic ride. That would put it right about where Dodge's SRT is with magnetic ride suspension. So, will magnetic ride be a separate option or will they create a 3SS?
