Copied this from Roto-Fab's website: "The oil and the dry filter are just about equal in popularity. We typically recommend the oil filter for best performance and the dry for ease of maintenance. Performance difference is minimal at the 400 HP range. Most customers base their decision on personal preference."

It implies the oiled filter offers better performance.

They use oil treated pleated gauze fiber in dirt bikes
They Don’t use dry filters because they don’t filter out
The dirt….but there is a case to be made that the dry filters
Flow more air…..this is getting more like an oil thread
PS dry filters are a throw away, whereas oil filters can be cleaned and re-oiled
I just don’t know why rotofab charges more for there dry filters, should be
The other way around. IMPO

The dry filter on the rotofab made a little more power than the oiled. Jenetty dyno tested the shit a few years back and Rotofab has also stated it flowed more.

Here is a post from Rotofab.

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=485613

I can probably dig up Jenetty's testing if I need to go that far with this subject.

Any power difference between dry and oiled would be so miniscule that it wouldn't matter. 2hp would not be felt by anyone and arguably within the margin of testing variability, scientifically speaking.

Everything I’ve been able to find shows more HP and less TQ. I believe the only reason to get these is looks and sound. That’s not a bad thing. $440 is the best price I’ve seen for roto-fab oiled. Anyone seen lower?

Ted recommended a RotoFab when I emailed him about my ZL1 even though it was stock. I bought mine from Summit Racing.

What sort of maintenance do you have to do on the oiled rotofab CAI?

Years ago I would clean and re-oil my K&N filter about once a year. This was on my toys that weren't driven daily. The key is to not saturate them with oil. I've read all kinds of statements that the oil will screw the maf.

Dry seems to lose performance after a cleaning.. they are never as good as they were when brand new, in my opinion, whereas, the oiled works just as good after proper cleaning.

What cleaning are you doing? I just use compressed air and blow mine out. When its actually dirty to the point it would need serious cleaning, then its time for a new one. Its such a cheap part to replace in the grand scheme of what these cars cost.
