I'm in the same boat. My Camaro was built on Nov 18, I was excited because I was notified on Nov 19th that it had been built and that was my birthday, so timing was great.

Since then, it has sat in a rail yard waiting to be shipped. So almost 5 weeks now.

That is after ordering in April, waiting and waiting for an allocation, which happened in October.

We picked up our Bronco on Jan 8th this year after 16 weeks of waiting, I'm now hedging my bets that I'll pick up the Camaro on the same date, one year later! We'll see if those stars align!

Got off the phone with my salesman, he stated another customer that was built in late October is still delayed ETA as well. He is betting on no movement to happen with the holidays and weather until mid January with maybe deliveries starting end jan middle of feb. if the deliveries come in feb with the recent builds , expect another .25-.5 interest rate increase the first week of feb.

Yes, it is sitting at the Lansing lot down the street from the factory.
I waited a year for them to build it. What is a few more weeks.
It's a ZL1, so I can't drive it until it warms up.
I don't even want GM to move it or drive it until it warms up.

My vehicle sat in Riverside, CA for almost 1 month before getting transported about 90 minutes away to my dealer. It took less time for the vehicle to go on train from Michigan to Riverside, CA than Riverside, CA to Northridge, CA. All normal.

Then moving again to the rail yard and so on. The codes weren’t meant to be public. Trying to follow them in any logical sense will make your head spin.
Welp... 12/21 was at 4300 no ETA, now today 12/27 it's back to 3800. Starting to agree with you that these codes aren't even worth trying to track

My guess is that these status codes are similar to LTL (Fedex, UPS, etc) tracking. More than likely, your car goes through a few hubs before it gets to the final destination. As it moves through those hubs, and gets connected/disconnected from each train line, the status changes. So it very well may be moving, but with just a status code, you can't tell exactly where it's at.

Then again, I could be completely wrong, but being in transportation all of my professional career, this would be my guess.

When I would talk to a live Chevy agent, I would ask where is the current location. They would tell me the last place it pinged at. I then could follow it on a map. One agent once told me it was leaving NM and to be delivered at Toledo Ohio. The agent did not know where the cars are being built till I explained it.

I had the dealer enable my onstar services a bit before the car I ordered showed up. I did that with a C7 a while back too. You can use the app to track where the car is with its GPS. It’s better with the corvettes because they all go on open carrier trucks so their GPS is always available to the sky. My Camaro was in a rail car for like 15 days and wouldn’t/wasn’t able to update its GPS until they moved the car off the train at the local hub and on to the truck before it went for delivery. So I knew when it was close. But with the corvette you could track it from factory to dealer because it was never covered like they are when they put them into the enclosed rail cars.

IN case you think of trying it I tried tracking mine through the my Chevy link app since I had the full VIN number but the app would not let me add the car to my profile. If you can get the OnStar connected then you can do it that way like the poster above me says.

That's so smart!! It's been at the railcar since 11/16. I just tried to add my VIN and connect the onstar but it said it was unable to add it. So I guess they haven't moved it yet?
