On cold start, tranny gets stuck in 1st gear- HELP!

I just bought a 2018 2.0L LT automatic, with 20K miles on it. It has this issue that happens irregularly, but still a few times a week. On the first start-up of the day, when I begin to drive, the transmission gets stuck in 1st gear and the RPMs get stuck as well (usually around 2500). I press the gas harder and it doesn't gain any speed. After about 2-3 seconds, it hard shifts and the car lurches forward. Then it is fine after that, it won't happen again all day and shifts perfectly fine. I've noticed it happens more often when it is colder out and the longer the car has been sitting without being turned on. Brought it to Chevy, they re-learned the clutch and also changed out the valve body, but no luck. Any idea what could be causing this?
