Jack makes it EASIER.. otherwise gravity always wins.

i do have a nice stainless steel table on rollers thats 3 1/2 feet high. i guess i could set that on the table. but the lift only lift the car 4 feet so not sure if it will fit.

taking them out by hand is easy. putting them back in is a pain.

when i pulled my engine in my 5th gen i didnt pull the trans. i cut the heads off long bolts to line up the transmission. used the bolts like studs. i probably kept them.

The trans is light enough to handle, but it is easier with a trans jack. The TR6060 is about 150# wet. Two people can ah for it without too much effort.

My uncle had a very heavy duty trans jack from a bus shop. Made in the 50s i think. A Manzel 7000F made in Buffalo NY.

The shifter is the hardest part of the removal IMO.

At 150lb or even 200lb I'm sure 2 of you could handle it, the area of consideration is the position of your bodies.
With the lift at 4' you'd be in a bent over position which will compromise your back and possibly your shoulders. Be careful, and I'm sure you know all of this, but just one tweek of the back and the project stops for a while. Might be safer to use a trans jack for support and unbolt even if the lift will need to be lowered.

my jack was too tall we got it separated then couldn't lower it far enough to clear the fire wall. we had to pick it up off the jack, kick the heavy jack out of the way then twist the trany sidways to clear the headers. If you have headers remove your o2s. i damaged the wires on one.
