Car won't start every day.

I've had this weird electrical issue since I bought my 2016 A8 2SS. I daily drive my car and every other month my car does not want to turn over. I have a jumper in my car, so I just jump it up when it happens. The weird thing is that it does not happen again for another 3-4 weeks. Dealer said they would have to keep the car to diagnose the issue. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

If you've never replaced the battery since you've had the issue, then do so first.

Its not a battery issue though. I've tested the battery and it passes.

The key fob battery, not the car battery.

Next time it won't start use a hand held voltmeter to see what the car battery is at BEFORE you connect jumper cables.

Continually check your voltage while you drive for a while. My battery has died also and needed external charging. Since then, I have been watching my voltage while I drive and it does some strange things. I notice that a lot of times the voltage stays at 12.1 to 12.2 volts for long periods of time. On one trip, I drove highway speeds for almost 3 hours and the voltage stayed between 12.1 and 12.2 only briefly going above 13. Something did not seem right, so after letting it sit overnight, I checked the battery with a volt meter the next morning and it read only 11.9 V. The morning after that it was dead, 5 V. Other more recent trips, the voltage reads between 13.2 and 14.5 only once in a while reading 12.1 volts. I think this is the way the charging system should behave all the time. My dealer checked the system and battery when I brought it in for other service and they found nothing wrong, but said they would need it for at least 2 days to fully diagnose it.
Please post your voltmeter observations, I'm curious if you see the same things I see.

Have you installed any aftermarket lighting or replacement bulbs like LED's? if not, then I agree with others and suspect the battery first.
As for your battery "checking out fine," that may well be the case. It sounds like you have an intermittent electrical problem. These always "check out fine" when you don't have the problem!
You could, for example, have a cell going in and out in the battery. Each cell is good for about 2 volts in a car battery, and the car won't start with 10 volts.

Battery can test fine and still be junk. Happened to several people on here. Me included.

I had this issue. GM Changed out my battery. Event thought the battery tested fine. It was in normal range. Problem went away and has not come back.

I had a Tahoe that was finicky, battery tested fine, all lights and electronics worked as if the battery was at full power, but it wouldn't turn over, luckily I was at a store that sold car batteries when it happened. Now WHY GMs are especially finicky, I don't know, most other newer cars will at least read low voltage or the IC will go into possessed mode for a few seconds.

^^Well, I've seen this happen to at least 3 of my previous cars and they weren't GM. It can happen to any car.

Left the car at the dealer. They had a TSB to remove some adhesive. That it was over used during the build process. Not sure, they did not say much. So far so good, will see within a few weeks if it is a solid fix.
